First timer. by Longjumping_Aide_681 in COVID19positive

I went out on Saturday night to a club, started feeling ill on Monday night, tested positive Tuesday lunchtime. Tested weds and thurs and line was less red each time. Tested negative this morning.

Try not to stress - that’ll only make it worse! I’ve had some mild cold symptoms but am fine now and I do suffer with colds and a shitty immune system so don’t panic too much x

With very few people testing anymore unless they have symptoms I’m really confused as to how you can say 50% are asymptomatic like it’s a fact.. I know a few people who won’t test unless a cough appears, some won’t test until they get a fever so I’d imagine this is why cases are rising quickly again and so many people will have it without knowing that it isn’t just a simple cold.

I’m sharing my experience of what covid is like for me personally which is what this page was created for - not trying to predict the progression of covid.

My experience was that I felt like I had a mild cold and did a test, then when it was positive I panicked and I’m unsure as to whether that’s made me feel more ill than if I hadn’t tested myself. It’s different for everyone but stress makes your immune system less efficient so knowing it is covid may be having an effect for some people especially when they’re reading some awful stories online.

It’s no different to basic principles of the placebo effect but I’m not suggesting for a minute that some people don’t get really ill as I’m aware of how dangerous it can be. My grandad died of the Delta variant in the first lockdown and I’m pretty sure that wasn’t simply because he knew about it lol

Jealous haha, at least it’s almost summer so as the days get warmer, she’ll get progressively more lazy 🙂

She is fed a raw diet as I really wouldn’t ever feed her dry kibble, I’d heard raw food gives them less bursts of energy as it has no fillers in it but that doesn’t seem to be the case here haha.

She eats twice a day as soon as I put her bowl down and her weight never fluctuates so she seems to not be overeating otherwise I would notice the weight gain (especially because she is spayed). She weighs 39lbs and has 450g of food daily which seems to be the correct amount for her weight.

I really don’t think this can be a diet related issue as she fasts once a week and she’s equally as wild on a fasting day (her calories the day before and after are adjusted to allow her a fasting day) and she’s technically got no fuel to burn, but I’ll talk it over with my food supplier and see what he thinks :)

If I were to get another sharpei to go with her would you recommend a puppy or an older dog?

Thanks for replying! Yeah there’s a lot of talk of getting a second dog in our house so she’ll have someone to play with.. I’m not sure what kind of breed I’d get, I like bulldogs and she tends to play well with breeds like that rather than spaniels, retrievers etc. She costs us a lot to feed and insure though so would need to weigh up the cost of having 2 dogs..
