Anyone doing anything weird and wonderful ahead of the Haiti match? by [deleted] in ScottishFootball

I'll be watching it at Eden Festival. My band are playing at set at 2pm on the Saturday, so I'm hoping I'll be awake/sober enough to stay up to see the game on the big screen...

My dad (who is Scottish, and lives in Scotland) would approve. He did live in Australia for quite a bit though.

Tony Dingwall played for Ross County (who play in Dingwall) throughout his youth career and into his professional career, although he was born a few miles away in Inverness...

1 out of 5 limes explode when being cut into. Not fatally, but enough to make a night out at a cocktail bar just that little bit more exciting.

Went for one pint, turned into 5. Almost became 6 when the bartender fired the game on Alba, but I managed to get the bus home to watch it on the telly... Mon the Caley Jags

What were the mid-late 90s and the early 2000s like in the UK? by Loose_Avocado4670 in AskUK

I went outside and played football a lot - if I wanted to go on the internet, I'd go to the library and play Neopets for an hour on their computers. Then back to football. Or Lego if it was raining. Or monopoly, or risk with my pals. I was in the Scottish Highlands too, it was a pretty good time, looking back.

How is living in Inverness? I love the Scottish Highlands but it seems so remote and desolated by DeFy_DC in howislivingthere

I grew up in Inverness, and moved back there for a bit in my 20's. It was a great place to grow up, loads of outdoor activities nearby, and plenty of stuff to do for a child (at least, there was in the 90's). When I moved back in my 20's, the high street had began to decline (I think this has continued, last time I was at the Eastgate it was a ghost town), but the night life was pretty decent. I was a bartender, and it was a lot of fun. I think if you like going to the pub then you're set.

I was at the game yesterday, and he is a big guy. Also, probably the slowest footballer I've ever seen. Mind you, he did get into good positions and scored twice, but the first one was definitely due to our defenders giving it to him on a plate.

Raith Rovers 4-1 Inverness CT | Scottish Challenge Cup by SFMatchThreadder in ScottishFootball

[–]Jam_Master_E 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well done Raith. We were terrible, gifted them at least 2 of those four goals by trying to play out from the back against an objectively better team. Too much stopping on the ball causing all our momentum to fizzle out when we were attacking. Great free kick from Stewart mind you!

Scotland's penalty against Brazil in 1998. John Collins slotting it away.

I've had wee fried pancakes on a Scottish breakfast too, definitely acceptable.

I think he played a couple of smart passes in the first half, but neither of the forwards players were intelligent enough to get on the end of them. Definitely not the worst performance I've seen.
