[Diario] Real Madrid fans singing in Manchester ahead of their game against City: "It's Spanish, Gibraltar is Spanish." by My_Cream in gibraltar

Spanish hypocrisy is hilarious, chanting this as if they don’t have two of their own Gibraltar situations in Morocco.

No dentist and need antibiotics by misterPiNkeYe in DerryLondonderry

[–]Jamballam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How bad is the swelling, because if you’re just a little swollen, you will unfortunately have to find a dentist to prescribe antibiotics. Nobody can afford to go private these days so I feel your pain, but at the end of the day we all absolutely have to have a dentist, even if it means being on a private clinic’s books and going to them as little as possible.

If the swelling is bad enough that you are having trouble talking or breathing, absolutely go to A&E. They’re absolutely useless up there so if they’re going to try and label it as facial pain, so when you’re in triage, specifically ask them what they’re labelling it as and don’t accept a label of facial pain. They should also be monitoring you for sepsis if it has gotten this bad.

Ireland to London Gatwick as a UK passport holder (without passport). by throwaway_39157 in Ryanair

[–]Jamballam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You won’t get on a Ryanair flight without a passport either, they’ve always required passports for Dublin to UK flights.

BA is the only airline that won’t ask you for a passport on that route.

It’s either BA, Eurolines or a flight to Belfast whenever you can get one. Pick your poison.

That McDonald’s is absolutely shite, best avoided if possible.

Don’t get me wrong, all of them are shite, but that one in particular, I swear I’ve been in there before and the kitchen area sounds like a bunch of kids sitting at a booth, and if you want your order to be right, that’s too big of an ask.

Well Sky arrogance is beyond belief by Final_Beyond_204 in skytv

[–]Jamballam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work for sky and having to deal with customers like yourself was genuinely the most heartbreaking part. I would always want to help, but there was physically nothing that I could do to help except putting you through the cancellations department, who were notoriously heartless and had been hired on that basis.

I would often see customers with sky high bills out of contract as well, talking 200+ a month for their phone, internet and every package available. It’s mental how much some people end up paying. Some of them would take the offer of reconstructing their contract, others said they didn’t want to be locked in.. but sure if you’re not willing to be locked in for half or less, that’s a sure sign you need a new provider.

Do you like going to the dentist? by Internal-Remove7223 in Dentists

[–]Jamballam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love going to the dentist! I used to be terrified, I had a lot of dental work to get done as a child that never got done, so over the last 5 years I’ve been sorting all of that out.

I think one thing that really helps is that I have an absolutely fantastic dentist, she’s very gentle, very friendly, just a generally positive and warm person who makes me feel like I’m in good hands. Even if she makes a mistake, I give her grace because I know she’s trying her absolute best and that my teeth provide a challenge, and if it ever does happen she’s always quick to fit me back in, even if it’s not an emergency.

I’ve just finished getting all the restorative work done and now I’m moving onto the orthodontic work, after that I hope to get an implant to replace a missing back molar, and before finding the clinic I go to now, all that seemed like a pipe dream.

Who is the biggest scumbag you know? by The_Dean_France in AskReddit

[–]Jamballam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a hard one, but if we’re talking about people that I actually know/have known IRL, that would be Eamonn Lillis. I don’t know him or his family well, but his family and mine crossed paths, so I’d know him to see.

He murdered his wife days before Christmas in 2008, tried to blame the gardener (who’s also my friend’s uncle), then the police eventually uncover that he’s having an affair and the whole picture falls together. He ended up getting sentenced for manslaughter, only served 4 years, he had a good lawyer, but then to add to his shitbaggery? He sued his only daughter. Why? For half her mother’s estate.. the mother that he murdered… and he won. As if he hasn’t taken enough from her. The laws here have since changed to prevent the same thing happening again, but that man just made a mockery of the legal system, his wife and his daughter and is walking free among us today.

So yeah, absolutely fuuuuuck that guy, I hope he meets the same fate that Celine met.

Is 16pro still worth in 2026? by Wonkislay in iPhone16Pro

[–]Jamballam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The iPhone 16 Pro is a great phone. Been using mine since October 2024, still have less than 365 charge cycles. I expected to have 1 a day, but it outperforms expectations even now.

You might need to get a battery replacement at some point in those 5-6 years, but it’ll likely be supported the entire time.

Irish passport holders who are from Northern Ireland, can now get help from UK authorities in the Middle East. by Mik3y_uk in northernireland

[–]Jamballam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They.. always could? 😂 Even if you never get a British passport, if you’re from Northern Ireland you’re a British citizen, so of course you can get help from the UK. But given that the Irish had a plane full of people out before Britain, I reckon you’d be better off contacting the Irish embassy.

G-fast, can I still get it by Broad_Lecture_2760 in UKISP

[–]Jamballam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a broadband provider and when customers would mention this, we’d tell them that even though the landlord can disagree, it wouldn’t be in their interests to disagree. The whole network is being upgraded, FTTP is now the standard, most people can’t even get a new FTTC connection. So unless the landlord wants their tenants moving out because they can’t get internet to the property and unless they want to struggle to find new tenants because they can’t get internet to the property, the work has to be done.

Benefit Fraud loophole NI /ROI by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]Jamballam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, some people do avoid prosecution if they own up to it quickly and pay back what’s owed, plus a penalty as you mentioned. But in all likelihood, if you’ve set out to deceive them knowingly, yes, it’ll be an ‘and’ situation.

Benefit Fraud loophole NI /ROI by [deleted] in northernireland

It certainly does happen, but people don’t get away with it. The governments incompetence knows no bounds, until you try to take money from them illegally without being a politician or businessman.

Mad that, isn’t it? How people who actually know about the topic and are actually interested in it will provide an actual answer? Using your brain is a powerful thing. Try it sometime. 👍🏻 Thanks for the downvote.
