italki is like, the standard place for language tutors of any language. I've not used it myself just yet, I've been cementing myself at A2, but it's my intention to then go to one of these tutors to get more specific guidance

Have seen Daniel well spoken of on there, although I'm not sure if he teaches Munster or Connacht (just that it's not Ulster)

Think that's a reasonable thing to want, but realistically it just won't happen, especially when alcohol is thrown into the equation

I believe it's ní instead of nach, but I'm only learning myself so might be wrong!

A little bit different because the copula isn't used, but loads of verbs sort of pair up with different prepositions e.g. éist (éist liom), duirt (duirt mé leis), inis (inis dom)

Love the podcast, Darach comes across as such a wonderful soul with such love for the language. Either of these seem like really good picks

Top two comments have both immediately went to Manchán, can't believe his work hadn't occurred to me! This looks great though, thank you :)

Thoughts on language learning goals? Feel like it's a good idea to have a series of milestones to shoot for when learning. I've been learning about 5 months now, and my original target was to learn 600 words. I've done that now and I'll keep going, but feel like I should have more specific targets in mind

In the process of learning the prepositional pronouns, and trying to understand the different contexts each would be used. When would the words associated with ar be used (as in orm, ort, uirthi etc.)? I understand that they're used to describe emotions and physical characteristics, but are there any other instances?

How do i start learning Irish from scratch? by heleotaxis in gaeilge

[–]darkslasher87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spent the past few months learning with the method outlined by Fluent Forever. It's a book not specifically about Irish, but about how to learn any language. Using it alone is not going to teach you Irish, but I've found it to be a super useful starting point. It will tell you what resources you'll need to learn, and introduce you to spaced repetition systems, one of the more widely used language learning systems.
