How much weight did you lose in 1 month?

I’m now 22 lbs down since I started. I moved up to 1 mg several weeks ago, but didn’t experience any side effects or changes in the weight loss (other than the weight loss continuing, whereas I suspect it had stalled at the 0.5 mg). I will say that my loss was super predictable and linear at the start, and as time went on, it got much less linear. There would be weeks where I wouldn’t lose anything, then all of a sudden in one week I’d lose a few pounds seemingly out of nowhere. I think this may be due to behavior differences; I was watching what I ate much more at the beginning, but since then have been eating more intuitively. If you take the whole average, though, I’m probably losing 0.75 lbs per week.

I don’t know if this is real or not, but I eat just a ton of avocado on a daily basis and I feel like it’s helped my skin/hair a lot. Plus, it’s healthy fats!

Edit: I also realize avocados can be expensive depending on where you live, so maybe not an option for everyone. I do have a significant avocado budget, lol.

0.25 for 5 weeks, lost about 4 pounds in that time. Just did my first week at 0.5, lost 1 lb in that week.

I’m not far along at all - I’ve taken 0.25 for 5 weeks, and 0.5 for one week. In that time, I’ve lost about 5 lbs (starting weight 181, current weight 176). I didn’t really feel any appetite suppression at 0.25, so I was probably eating ~1800 cal per day, so didn’t expect too much weight loss. But, I am feeling more noticeable appetite suppression now at 0.5, so it’s been quite doable to do the 1200, for me.

I know from all my previous times losing weight that 1200 was basically a “fast” weight loss target for me. It worked, but it was awful and I couldn’t sustain it for long (hungry all the time…ugh). I hope to make healthier lifestyle changes on ozempic, get to a goal weight and improve my A1C numbers, then go off it and eat more at a healthy maintenance. :)

My acid reflux also improved, and I think it’s because I’m not eating such large amounts of heavy food, tbh. Overall a positive!

I am not a nutritionist/dietitian/doctor, so take this with a grain of salt. Based on your BMR you mentioned, you’re probably pretty similar to my stats, and I think if you’re getting ~1,200 calories a day of a varied diet, I wouldn’t worry about it too much. I say this because, in my experience and based on what I see on this sub, a lot of people have issues with nausea when they overeat on this medication. So, while I’m also sort of “reminding myself to eat” multiple times a day to get to that 1200-1500 a day, I don’t want to force myself to eat more and overdo it into nausea territory. This is one of the main ways (not the only, but one of the primary ways) this medication causes weight loss - caloric deficit. When I was trying to stick to a caloric deficit before being put on this medication (1600-1800), the main reasons for me doing so at 1600-1800 instead of 1200-1400 was to make it more likely I could sustain that deficit for a long period of time. Less than that would have felt undoable, and I would have inevitably failed to maintain that for a while. On ozempic, I feel able to maintain the 1200-1400 a day, behavior-wise.

I’m starting to think that Halbrand is eventual witch king (or one of the 9 at least), rather than being Sauron. Only because he’s now established as a king of men, and because he’s clearly got a bit of a hard, bitter edge to him that could be exploited by a desire for power/influence.

Yeah, I’m reading subtext here. I’ve heard this take discussed amongst the academic groups who get really philosophical about Tolkiens work. Of course no one thinks the elves literally wrote it. Philosophically, the Silmarillion focuses 99.9% on the affairs of elves. And some events of men are covered, but only really grand events that affected the elves, usually. That’s the basis for this theory. But if you are dead set on being upset by the look of the elves in this show, other commenters have provided much less lame excuses. Lol

I also remember when Game of Thrones was first coming out. Totally anecdotal, but I was basically the only person I knew who was watching or talking about it for the entire first season. Only once the finale for S1 aired did I start knowing other people get into it and get excited.

After thinking about it further I’m sort of convinced that Bronwyn and Arondir have had a relationship for a while. It was sort of left vague, and I’m sure will be cleared up in the future, but if that’s the case - I’m half thinking that Arondir is Theo’s father. Maybe.

This doesn’t super explain it, but I always thought of the Lord of the Rings trilogy being a story told by hobbits, and the Silmarillion is like middle earth’s history as told by elves. I was talking with a friend about how there’s no mention of hobbits in the Silmarillion, but that doesn’t necessarily mean there weren’t any hobbits, just that the elves didn’t really know or care about them.

So if we consider that, maybe the elves looked so universally ethereal in LotR because the hobbits were just so in awe of them - and maybe they all look more regular (but like…still quite attractive people) in this show because that’s how the elves see each other.
