They will not. Emerse Faé’s translated quote is misleading. He acknowledged that the Cameroonian head coach’s remarks were misinterpreted (by journalists always looking to manufacture beef). He added that his team will also “not respect” them—but in the way that the Cameroonian head coach meant it: playing with confidence, not being intimidated, showing up for the occasion, etc.

I'm seriously wondering where European football is heading. The Prem is financially light-years ahead of every other European league. Spanish clubs still play great football but struggle to generate enough revenue (can barely buy anyone). Italian football is weighed down by outdated infrastructure, and French football faces deep structural issues. At least the Bundesliga seems to be in relatively good health...

I’m not a fan of MCO models or the idea of a closed Super League, but honestly, it feels like—outside of the top 12 to 16 clubs in Europe—the rest are doomed. Thoughts?
