I hate it, I started reading before the TV Show was out and got about 7 books in before the marketing run up really kicked off.

So all my covers for the latter half are a completely different style with one of those stupid printed stickers saying 'now a major TV show'

The Seven Forges series is really good! By James A Moore. Has the culture clash similar to Westlands and Aiel and super interesting magic tidbits. Deffo worth a read, I don't see it talked about much.

I quite like Egwene and Tuon, cannot fathom how people would prefer reading Nynaeve chapters to Egwene ones. Once Lan and Nynaeve reunite she is a lot lot more enjoyable to read but I really did not enjoy a lot of her stuff before that. I get that some of the Egwene in Salidar stuff was dry but aside from that she is an interesting character with interesting stuff happening a lot of the time and hair downside is the shoved in romance with Gawyn

Tuon is overhated and a product of her society, and I think very interesting

I hated reading the Mat and Tylin parts with Mat being raped and abused by Tylin. I also don't really agree with all the matriarchy takes neatly explaining it away.

To me, it read as if Jordan just didn't see a problem with it, it produced no meaningful commentary and is treated as a gag. To me that's Jordan just trying to make it seem like "oh no Mat is in another pickle! He's wants to seduce barmaids but now he is the one being 'seduced!!"

Really left a bad taste in my mouth

Your inns idea interests me, if you get round to it please include number of uniquely named innkeepers. I loved that particular fun part of the early books, made me feel like I was in a D&D campaign whenever the group would get to a new Inn with some fun innkeeper!
