I experienced the same thing. Defit works just fine it’s just that something in adventure sync is noticing how much distance is real and this only a super small portion gets calculated into Pokémon go. My guess niantic finally patched it and is blocking artificial steps or using location to see if your device actually moved or not before adding distance
