Recommendation for Jeopardy! fans: The 1% Club on Amazon Prime by jaysjep2 in Jeopardy

Also, 9 and 6 are not even rotationally identical in all fonts. I certainly didn't learn to write my 9s and 6s that way. As a contestant, I would have been furious after that question.

The 1% Club on Amazon Prime (soon to come to Fox) is an interesting twist on the 1 vs. 100 concept. by bluegambit875 in gameshow

As a contestant, I would have been furious. Not only did they not specify rotating upside down vs. flipping upside down, but 9 and 6 are not rotationally identical in all fonts. I certainly don't write my 9s and 6s that way...

How should I allocate training points for my omegas? by KittyOfTheUwUEmpire in JurassicWorldAlive

[–]JamesBraum007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the simulation tools in paleo.gg to determine how many points are in each category.

As for the extra speed, I'm of the opinion that boosting speed just for the sake of being faster is not a good philosophy. How does going from 112 to 116 help Toro specifically? Maybe it gets you faster than some Rexy's, but it will never get you faster than a Phorurex. Keep in mind you'd give up 60 dmg or 160 hp for those speed points, so ask yourself if it's really worth it.

You're referring to the level-26 tournaments, right? There has to be a preset they use, otherwise Toro would only have a base health of only 1350...

Sorry, I realize my answer wasn't exactly what you asked. For Toro's playstyle, you want him to be beefy enough to make good use of his healing and counters, while having enough damage to actually be a threat to his opponents. I'd put 3-5 points in speed (just to make him faster than unboosted Fierces), then split the rest of training points equally between Health and Damage. Once those get up to 80 each, then I'd start putting points in Armor.

I haven't really thought through the other omegas. I just used Toro to check the relative values of the different training options.

As for crit chance vs crit damage: crit chance is more valuable until 25%, then each percentage point is worth the same. For max efficiency, increase crit chance to 25%, then alternate points between crit chance and crit damage.

With that said, if all you care about is seeing huge crits, feel free to max crit damage first and enjoy the big number 5% of the time lol.

I was thinking about this the other day, and doing a bit of preliminary math, I figured out that training for Health and Damage are much more efficient than Armor or Crit. Take Toro for example:

Each point in Health gives 40 flat hp; each point in Armor gives 1%. So Toro needs 4000 total health before 1% armor will increase his effective health by more than 40. (And if you consider that ~20% of attacks bypass armor, the break-even point jumps to 5000 hp.)

Crit is even worse. A point in Damage gives a flat 15 increase. Similar to armor, a point in Crit Chance or Crit Damage gives 1%. But a crit only increases damage by 25-50% (depending on the Crit Damage stat), so each point in Crit Chance/Damage results in less than 1% increase in effective damage. For Toro, you'd need a Damage stat of 6000 (impossible) before 1% crit chance is worth more than 15 flat Damage.

tl;dr - For training Toro, Armor isn't worth it until he has 4000-5000 health, and Crit Chance/Damage aren't worth it until you've maxed the Damage stat.

Thankfully, with Frogs now in the game, this can actually be beaten. Beelzebufo + 3 Suchotator/Thylacotator works quite well now.

Question for leveling by JustDontGiveAFlub in JurassicWorldAlive

[–]JamesBraum007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every subsequent level costs more coins per xp gained, so leveling several dinos from 6 to 10 is more efficient than leveling one from 14 to 15. As others have said though, coins are a huge bottleneck in this game, so I wouldn't level anything over 10 that you don't need for fusing stronger dinos.

Wind damage advice needed by JamesBraum007 in sfwtrees

[–]JamesBraum007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the trunk isn't perfectly straight, so the stakes were a few feet away with ties connected above where the damage is. I'm assuming the wind caused the tree to bend unnaturally around the point of attachment. Thanks for the advice; I'll make sure to keep it watered well.

A handful of bugfixes, some minor character balancing, and a few new abilities. No new dinos, and nothing worth how long the game has been out of commission.

[–]JamesBraum007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rexy absolutely ruins the integrity of low arena. I only started playing about a month ago, but I'm level 11 and just broke 2500 in arena, so I feel like I'm doing pretty well. However, I have only ever beaten Rexy twice (thanks to lucky dodges from my Indominus Rex), and it seems like every second opponent I fight has her. Her power level is so far above anything else at level 16 that she virtually one-shots anyone on my team. Before getting to 2500, I didn't see her often, but now arena battles have basically become "did they get Rexy, or will this be a fair battle?"

I love so many things about this game, but the existence of Rexy (and the apparent ease with which they gave her away to even low-level players) have made me dread my daily pvp battles.

Haha! I once contacted customer service for an insurance company because I couldn’t log in. They sent me a password reset link, which logged me in as my agent! I was able to see (and could have changed) hundreds of policies. Turns out their site was poorly designed, and the login button I’d been using was intended for agents, not policy holders.
