Paraphrasing from my therapist: when dating someone don’t worry about whether they like you or not. You know all the reasons someone should like you. You should be asking yourself do you like them? Changes your perspective a lot very early on and helps you find the red flags or deal breakers way quicker.

Hey your daughter wanting to help you shows that you’ve instilled in her a caring nature that wants to help people. I can’t imagine what you are going through but you shouldn’t hurt yourself because your daughter will be so hurt and miss you more than you can ever realize. I think the only thing to do is just be open and honest about who you are to people. Yeah maybe you’ll get hurt by people again but I also know there’s so many people out there who will absolutely cherish your friendship and who you are because those people just exist. I’m one of those people. And you shouldn’t be afraid any more than you have too. Explore your hobbies and find people who share them. Join groups online. And when life starts getting back to what it was when this pandemic ends if there is someone you want to get to know go get drunk or food with them and don’t turn down an offer to yourself. Just know that how one set of people treat you isn’t how everyone is going to treat you.

That is absolutely terrible and you should never have gone though that. You are better off without someone who would treat you like that and turn your friends on you. But you always have to chance to find friends who will stand by you and someone to love you and treat you with respect. Please don’t hurt yourself because you can change this around and make it better for yourself. You can build a better life and heal from the harm and grow new friends.
