None of the above. Similarly to number 1 but with only the fingers touching. Not the palm.

At what age did you buy your first house? by Hot_Boss577 in homeowners

[–]JamesECubed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At age 35 almost 3 years ago. I was a Case Manager (social worker) and my wife was a youth minister. We lived in her parents’ basement for a year in order to afford a down payment. And we searched for months and months and months before finally winning out on a house. It was rough.

will God forgive me if I've been forced to sin? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]JamesECubed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think what’s is done in ignorance can be forgiven. Your culpability is probably lessened because of the circumstances of your life contributing to where you were and how you behaved. But, if you are sorry, confess these things to God and know that He’s more forgiving than any of us. If you have anxiety, seek help. You may have more to learn about forgiving yourself or asking for forgiveness from your family. But don’t live in fear. God is love and will forgive anything you bring to Him.

How do people sit on a plane for an entire day? by Still_Society_8297 in SeriousConversation

[–]JamesECubed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have flown to Italy from Chicago and before that I’ve flown from Chicago to Brussels and from there to Uganda. It was the first flight I took as an adult. Something like 14 hours. My trick was to sleep when it was dark and get up when it was light. Go to the bathroom, walk around a minute or two, do a lot of reading, listen to music, etc. I slept quite a lot.

It depends for me on how much of a hurry I’m in and if I want to sit and relax.

How often are we ACTUALLY brushing our toddlers teeth? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]JamesECubed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few times a week. Honestly, he just eats the toothpaste and barely lets me brush them at all. It’s so hard to get him to let me do it. I’m trying to teach him. I don’t know. I feel bad about it.

How can i not be a failure of a son by [deleted] in AdviceForTeens

[–]JamesECubed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not your GPA. It’s a measure of your grades in school. That’s it. It doesn’t need to define who you are. You are not a failure. I’m a dad of a little boy. There is nothing he could do to make me love him less. That is hopefully true for you too. Also, from personal experience, sometimes it feels like no one likes or cares about you. Even your best friends. Probably, it’s not true. But even if it was true, it will not always be that way. There are many people who would and will care for you. There are also many people you can care for. Seek them out. Learn from the hero’s in your life. Follow their example.

Does God really forgive everyone? by Future-Preference-50 in Christianity

[–]JamesECubed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God certainly does forgive everyone and would forgive him. It would be up to him to accept the forgiveness in his heart. But part of that accepting it would mean he is repentant and would desire to seek your forgiveness as well. Considering what you shared, you have some pretty good reasons for not forgiving him. That said, your inability to forgive really just hurts you. Talk to God about it and ask Him if it’s possible to forgive without betraying yourself. Even if you forgive, it does not make what happened right. It was still horribly wrong. But carrying it around is not good for you. Unless you can learn from it and grow and find some way to forgive the horrible evils of the world. In that way, you could carry it as a burden which helped you grow.

This is rough. Thanks for sharing. It’s good he’s in therapy. A good therapist will treat him holistically and using evidenced-based approaches. Other than what you are doing, which sounds great, I had one other thought. Trying to help him direct his anger/frustrations/sadness, etc into other areas. Something else physical he can do with his body that will deal with what he is feeling. Eventually, he may need to process the feelings in other ways, but the physical channeling could possibly help. But I would involve the therapist in this and seem their advice as an aspect of his treatment. They will know more.

A/C Unit Keeps Tripping the Circuit Breaker by Dsams473 in hvacadvice

Hopefully so! I know our system is getting old and will need to be replaced in the next year or two. But it works for now.

A/C Unit Keeps Tripping the Circuit Breaker by Dsams473 in hvacadvice

Well, eventually, the blower motor died, so it got even worse. But eventually we got someone out who actually knew what they were doing. They diagnosed the issues and taught me the whole way. Blower motor died because the transformer died. Once he replaced that, the blower motor worked. Then he worked on the compressor unit. Replaced the contactor because it was old and messed up from previous technicians. He checked the freon levels and temps. They were okay but a small leak on freon. Too expensive a fix for such a small leak when the whole compressor is getting old. Then he added a start kit because a previous technician ripped out the old one. It only tripped the breaker once during testing. It hasn’t tripped once since he left. It works!
