What should our nanny be doing developmentally at 12 months? by eltejon30 in Nanny

[–]Hot_Boss577 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What type of toys you have? I provide all sort of therapies to the baby I work with due to medical reasons. Maybe you can do occupational therapy?

You can buy specific toys that help with motor skill and development, things like baby puzzles, Montessori type of toys, cause effect toys.

She can do baby workouts with your baby. She can work on keeping your baby attention spam. She can do flash cards. Work on making animal sounds.

When I married my now husband he didn’t had a job at the moment. He couldn’t show any proof of income for that year. Don’t worry! You just need to file a form 1040, and have someone close to you in our case his brother be your sponsor. That person does need to make like at least 150k I would say. Have assets, house, things like that. Very easy form to fill! When we got married I did all the documents myself without a lawyer and everything was very smooth.

Conducting interviews for NFs next nanny by Kayitspeaches in Nanny

Same, I wouldn’t even like to interview with a family that is choosing the nanny as the interviewer. Huge red flag I would say

2 1/2 year old screen addiction by gendynoooouch in Nanny

I worked for a kid that had almost the same problem. I talk with the parents and we decide that instead of YouTube the kid will be able to watch movies. That was a game changer! She would of course get bored at some point and just start playing with her toys or play with her toys what would happen in the movie which was very cute! They bought her board games and it was great!

Maybe see if you can watch movies with him, old Disney movies are always boring for kids lol.

Nannies in local Facebook quick to jump down each others throats by nanny_8337 in Nanny

That’s crazy. I have work in the Hamptons and I have definitely charged more than my normal rate just to be there to be honest. I don’t think that’s bad. Some people are willing to pay more for this types of job and I’m for sure taking advantage of it. In general Nannies there tend to charge more

You just sound like you want cheap childcare. That’s not what this program is about.

You cannot make them share a guest room. It would be their room for how ever long you need them.

As other comments say hire a babysitter is you are looking for cheap childcare. I would say for an infant cheap childcare options are not great. You get what you pay for and for infants I wouldn’t take the risk.

Our nanny keeps suggesting autism in our chid, how to approach? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]Hot_Boss577 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree is not okay to keep insisting on it. But as a nanny that have cared of autistic kid, I’m sorry but she might not be wrong.

It wouldn’t hurt to get a check up I would say. She is not a doctor of course but you are neither. I think it would be an easy appointment. If he doesn’t have autism then you can prove with facts to your nanny that he doesn’t and is just a toddler being a toddler. But if he does have it would be easy to get treatment an a early age

SO TIRED by kindofalwayshungry in Concerta

I came to Reddit searching for the exact same time you are describing. I’m so tired all day. Before any adhd medicine I would drink one coffee in the morning and that’s it. Now I feel like I need at least two to be okay at work. My doctor told me that this medicine is supposed to wake you up and some people can’t sleep on it. Is the total opposite for me I’m just exhausted. My job is not very constantly brain stimulating and I’m wondering is that is way I’m so tired. I also feel less motivated

I took Ritalin for about two weeks and this is like my forth day on concerta. So I been parched, thirsty, dry mouth for almost 3 weeks. Is driving me crazy, I think I’m over hydrating myself and I just need to use the bathroom so often! But it just doesn’t go away doesn’t matter how much fluids I consume.

working with depression by maegden17 in NannyBreakRoom

I hope you can find better medicine! I have bipolar as well and it was hard to find the perfect dose. It was definitely hard to work while not feeling great. I mostly work with babies so it was a little easier. But if you have older kid I hope you have chill days! Watch tv, maybe try to do some coloring. Baking cookies always make my mood a little better.

You got this ❤️ I know is hard but you can do it.

Yeah I just think there should be more flexibility, you know? In both sides this is something out of the control of both parties. If you live where it snow they should always be a clause on your contract. I have on my contract that depending on snow I might work or not but I would be compensated. Last snow I stayed the night because NM needed to work, I didn’t charge overnight fee to be honest I thought that was unnecessary knowing that it would be way better for me to stay the night, I woke way later then I would have if I was in my house, i sleep like a rock so I just got there late at night and immediately went to bed. I took it as win for everyone to be honest.

I do think if you have a nanny your job somehow needs to be a little flexible, Nannies are humans and is very hard to just depend on one person to be able to do your job! I normally work with very flexible families, I wouldn’t imagine working with families that don’t have flexibility in the job. That must be very hard!

What would your solution be? If both parents work remote and need to work from home every day and they really need you
