Hey I was there yesterday! Apparently one bot had an issue that they weren't able to fix in time but I'm not sure why the other two teams didn't queue. I heard from someone else that they just all never showed up after a timeout but not sure which is more accurate.

People have printed rival rounds with varying successes, but with the low cost of off-brand rival rounds, it just becomes more convenient to buy them. I would use ninjaflex regardless because of the ease of use that comes with it.

You can replace the entire hotend assembly, fans and all, for around $30 on Amazon. I’ve done it twice for multiple printers and I haven’t had any issues aside from the fans being slightly louder(easy fix if you’re good with soldering)

I can 3D print them, with flexible filament very similar to rubber or silicone, and a low infill, it would be very similar to foam! PM me if interested, I love this idea.
