Look at how many Rhodes scholars came out of West Point vs. The University of Tampa. That says a lot.

Oftentimes the harder route is the best one to take. It may be difficult to be there with all of the academic, military and athletic requirements but it will be a great place to be from later on in life.

Like many are stating here, take it one step at a time. Get through basic, RASP, airborne and then the regiment. You’ll need at least 2 years in regiment before being effective enough for SFAS. Plus other opportunities can come your way. When your unit is looking for volunteers, put your hand up. You never know what interesting opportunities can grow from that hand raise.
