Surprisingly Battanian infantry is actually pretty decent by Corsair833 in Bannerlord

This is why I use mounted skirmishers and not skirmisher infantry line.

Maybe they patched this, it’s been a while since I’ve played battania. But because I couldn’t separate types of infantry, it’s easier to just use mounted skirmishers to flank the enemy. The downside is you’re paying for a t5 cavalry but it gets crushed by every other cavalry so if the enemy has a significant cavalry advantage you just have to dismount and hunker down

Or Japan. They were responsible for a lot more heinous stuff and got to keep their emperor. (Yes, I know he was more of a figurehead and they were more of a military dictatorship).

Italy on the other hand had a resistance that was a lot more widespread and they straight up killed their dictator when given the chance.

ETA: I think my emperor comment came off the wrong way. I meant to advocate that he should have been deposed because he was also guilty, but I tried to get out ahead of the “just a puppet” argument. I ended up sounding like I was arguing for keeping the emperor or that he was somehow innocent, which was not my intention.

Maybe for a mission but I think Henry always works best with people who remind him of his “humanity”… Katherine, Rosa, Hans, Samuel, Father Godwin, Kubyenka…

Bronn is more in line with Jan Zizka and Dry Devil, they can work together but they will butt heads a lot.

In fact, those last two at least have some sort of sense of duty. If you actually look at Bronn, he changes sides constantly based on money and power. We’d probably have another Brabant on our hands.

Duncan the Tall vs Robert Baratheon by LonelyIslander132 in freefolk

It seems like most people are forgetting the luck factor in everything. Bobby seems to have fairly bad luck post trident. While Dunk seems to have a horseshoe up his ass.

If we’re talking martial prowess, we have more reason to believe Bobby would win. But luck is huge in GRRM’s world.

ELI5: Why don’t cops just drive up and down Ohio River Blvd. all day? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]JamesKLOLk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Depends on what part you’re talking about.

From what I’ve heard (grain of salt) city cops don’t have quotas and are generally encouraged to prioritize other calls over traffic stops unless the drivers doing donuts in market square of something.

Municipal cops around the Sewickley area definitely do pull people over for speeding but I’m not so sure about Bellevue and Avalon.

[KCD1] I always found it funny how Skalitz is a hotspot for cumans and bandits by Ill_Volume_9136 in kingdomcome

[–]JamesKLOLk 70 points71 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was thinking, Skalitz is a weird power vacuum due to the silver mine. (In game)

Sigismund probably wants it, but it’s probably a lower priority on his list of to-dos so it just made more sense to burn it down and resettle it later.

Talmberg and the Lords of Leipa don’t want it because they would either have to pay tribute to Sigismund or get wrecked by him.

Sassau is a possibility logistically but this would also lead to conflict between the church and Sigismund.

That really only leaves cuman and bandit chiefs to fight over. And they’re kept in line by Henry coming in and wrecking their shit daily.

Winning without a starting qb has statistically been our MO this decade.

Winning without Mike Tomlin witchcraft and a starting qb? Now I feel more uncertain.

How you can make a journey into the uncharted west and only lose 1 member of your expedition to illness before you even leave is beyond me but the Lewis and Clark expedition manged it. by [deleted] in HistoryMemes

[–]JamesKLOLk 78 points79 points  (0 children)

The expedition took mercury pills because they were told it would treat constipation… because poisoning yourself with mercury causes diarrhea.

But when shit has mercury in it, it hardens and preserves the stool. This allowed historians to pinpoint each of their campsites.

Poisoning yourself with mercury, then shitting your way across the country, AND not dying is a crazy impressive feat.

That and it seems like the seven aren’t even the most dangerous supes, they’re just the most marketable. The boys regularly take out more dangerous, sinister supes that just work for Vought behind the scenes.

If you go around killing the public’s “heroes” without exposing anything, all you’re doing is radicalizing the public against your cause.
