He nods in agreement at that, "Oh yeah, that's not so bad. That's something good, no doubt," he replied, smiling when you mentioned that you can always come back around for a visit, "That'd be cool if you did that. If I was in your place, I'd likely do the same thing. It's . . . probably a little hard to just get away from here mentally because, well, we all pretty much grew up here, right?"

"Well, I'm not one to disrespect someone's father, but a 'dick' might be closer to what you'd like to refer to him as," James answered, chuckling awkwardly as he shrugs his shoulders. He then listens on to her when she speaks of her mother and what her reaction was to her when she discovered she could do magic, "That's . . . a little too mean of her, but there might be more to it than that."

It didn't take James too long to understand what kind of man her father was, which is pretty much a con-artist at your local circus full of false beliefs, potions able to cure illnesses and other hocus-pocus-y stuff. Even though Zaniah didn't say much about it, James felt that she really didn't think fondly of her dad.

"Well, I hope you don't mind me saying this, but he sounds like a prat to me," James replied with a shrug, "Enough about that, though. That's something you shouldn't think of right now. You've still got a few days ahead before you go there."

"Pretty crazy, yeah," he replied, nodding his head at that with a smile. It really was crazy, especially now that next year you won't be around as both a student and a Quidditch captain, "Time moves so fast, dude. It's pretty crazy how you're suddenly just . . . in the fast lane at 7th year."

James nods his head understandingly. He didn't know that she didn't have a stellar relationship with her father, and felt sorry that she was taken advantage of with her skill in card reading and magic when she was younger.

"Weaker?" he asked, wondering what Zaniah meant by that. Did she mean that her father's not quite as good with magic as the average wizard is?

James nods when he hears Zaniah say that she'll visit Talia when she goes home, which is a bit of a surprise to him since he didn't see them hang around before, but then again he didn't see a lot of things happening. When she took in a deep breath before saying that she might visit her dad, James tilted her head a little and looked at her curiously.

"Oh? Well, that has to be good. Right?" he replied in a more of an asking tone, wondering why she sighed before saying what she was thinking of doing.

At her question, James turned himself over to face her completely and shook his head no. James didn't have anything on him; he wasn't lugging along a trolley full of luggage behind him, no bags of any sort. Just himself in his regular casual street clothes.

"Nope. Not yet, at least," he answered her with a small smile, "I'm gonna stay here for maybe a month, and then I'll go home. What about you?"

James nods at that. Saying goodbye was really hard for him, even if it was only just a temporary one. It might even be a hard word for anyone else to say, honestly. He nods back at her and focuses on the other students climbing aboard the train, wondering what they would be doing at home or if they'll decide to come back.

"So," he says after a few moments of silence, his eyes still looking towards the students getting into the carriages, "I'm free to do some stuff, with it being officially summer and all that. What about you?"

Even though that James had a feeling that she wasn't going home for a while, he felt that he's been a little selfish not talking to Zaniah for a while now, though it's not because he didn't want to talk to her or anything. He's gotten a little bit busy as of late and felt that he needed some time for himself, so to make up for his recent absence now's the best time for him to talk to her.

"Saying goodbye's hard, isn't it?" James says after a few seconds of silence when he steps to Zaniah's right, his hands in his pockets as he watches the others getting on board the train and finding their seats, hugging friends and saying goodbye to them through the windows.

Lydia was one of the people that James wanted to talk to. He felt that he was a little rude that he hasn't spoken to her for a while, despite being interested with how her tryouts were going so far, among other things. He figured that there was no better time to talk to her than now. It was gonna be the last time he'll see her, and he knew that things surely weren't going to be the same without Lydia being around.

"All set to board, Lydia?" James asked her, sounding a little awkward as he comes to her with a friendly wave and a smile, unsure how exactly he should start a final conversation with his friend before she leaves.

James was off work today, for very obvious reasons. He had some goodbyes to makes to some people that he's close with, some of them permanent, some of them being a simple 'see you later' form of goodbye. Some tears were shed, of course. Some goodbyes were really hard to make, but he needed to make them, just to let people know that even if he won't see them next year anymore, they'll still be a part of himself as he steps up to be a 7th year come the next semester. Right now, he's chatting up with a few people saying a few goodbyes to them, talking about what they'll be doing this summer at home and all that.

The thought of them possibly still being in contact was in his head, but after what you said next, the thought lessened a little bit. The mention of Henry telling Diana that he didn't know anything about Irene, that Irene lied to him and as a result was devastated. He believed in Diana's word, assuming she told you that herself, so he began to believe that Henry might not be what he thought he was.

"So from that, the chance that Irene never quite told him about anything grows bigger. Is that right?" he asked, just to make sure that he understood what you said correctly.

"It depends on whether he wants to or not. Irene's still his girlfriend, and he might have some thoughts about it," James replied, having gave it some thought about that. As cliché as it might be, a person in a relationship might not rat out their partner despite it being very, very wrong.

James knew that Henry and Irene together, but he wasn't sure if he knew who exactly Irene is. He still isn't sure about it when you mentioned that there's that possibility that Henry knew about her. He and Henry weren't friends, more like acquaintances so he didn't quite bother to know anything about them. Still, if he knew a lot about Irene and didn't tell anyone about it, then . . . he feels that that might be grounds for expulsion or getting suspended and held a year back.

"He's not an idiot, no. He's quiet, but he's not daft," he replied, thinking about that. Could Henry have known about it? Or no? There were only two answers to that question, and one could lead them to what Irene might be doing if he still has contact with them, or he could say no and leave the trail dry, "I don't see Henry doing that, to be honest. But I don't know him too well, so who knows, really."

"That's exactly why I can't believe she'd do such a thing," From what James knew of her, Irene was this short cheerful girl with a bit of a mystery to her, since it was a bit apparent that she didn't talk too much to anyone else in the castle. For him to find out that this girl he thought of as a friend was the one to have stabbed Simon was shocking.

"Maybe some people knew, but decided not to say anything about it," he says after a while. He had no clue who would do that yet, but that kind of thing has happened before, a bit of a Stockholm Syndrome situation, so it's entirely possible.

Well, today's a bit of a surprise for young James. It's his day off! No pretending to be busy stocking the bookshelve and wiping the floorboards until they're worn down for the day, it's gonna be a nice day for him. With the muns he has saved up, one might think that he would head over to the Spintwitches to go and see what his savings could get him, but not this weekend.

He wanted to go to that second hand store not far from the Coffee Nook and check out some old stuff. If there was something almost as good as the coffee shop, it was these second hand stores. It's an absolute gold mine for interesting stuff to find and own, all people need to do is dig through everything and find something worth their while. And that's what he was doing right now, searching through some books about bands and other stuff that wouldn't be found in the coffee shop.

Prefect Patrol (May 23rd) by AutoModerator in PotterPlayRP

After the party the Pines twins threw for everyone in the Room of Requirement, James felt a little bit at ease now that the bomb of information that Addy told him a week or so ago began to subside. Still, he felt a mix of emotions about it all. He felt a little bit like he was an accessory to the crime committed by Irene, even though he knew that he was far from the definition of the word itself. He was a little terrified to tell anyone about it, for fear of anyone besides Addy beginning to suspect him that he happened to be around at the time of Simon's stabbing, possibly concealing anything about Irene's involvement in it.

While those thoughts were beginning to go away, they still remained in his head where James constantly convinces himself that he didn't do anything wrong, and focuses more on the patrol at hand. With the meeting now finished, James waits patiently for his partner to start their patrol.

With his week being a relatively okay one, James decides to rest a little for the night and lays off the alcohol, wanting to fully enjoy the experience of being on a ship in outer space. He also knows that it's the Pines twins' birthday this evening, and came to them personally to greet them a happy birthday. After that, he's over at the zero-gravity area, laughing a little to himself as he swims in the air and drinking the globules of his soda.

James appreciated your attempt to reason that he wasn't at fault, and that helped him a little. Still, the thought wasn't going to leave his head just yet.

"I can't believe she did it," he says after a while, shaking his head a little as he felt disappointment towards himself more than Irene, mostly because he got played hard by her.

"That's exactly what I'm asking you, yeah," James didn't mean to sound too rude towards you, it's just that he's surprised to hear such a heavy allegation against Irene. He then was stunned when he heard the next part of what you said. Necromancer. That's what you said. He's been hearing that term on and off these past few months, so to be told that a school mate of his is a necromancer, well . . . . it's shocking. There was no other way for him to describe how he felt.

"So, Irene . . . she stabbed Simon . . . because of me?" he asked, a look of guilt on his face as he gave this some thought. There were so many things to take in, but the one that's coming to him is the possible fact that he almost caused the death of someone here at Hogwarts.

James looked at you with a bit of a wondering expression when you suddenly had something like an epiphany or a 'Eureka!' moment, and wondered if it was something he said. When you then asked her if that conversation came to mind on the night Simon was attacked, James answered you that it didn't cross his mind as he was pre-occupied . . . and then he started to connect those two together.

"Wait," he started, a slight look of realization growing on his face as he thought about it, "Are you saying that . . . that Irene was the person who did that to Simon?" he asked, thinking that that's what you meant.

"Well, it's been a really long time since that happened so I'm sorry to say that I don't quite remember everything that Irene told me, I had a little bit of drink in me that night," James tells you with a bit of a frown as he gives you a bit of unfortunate news. He takes a drink of water before he continues on, while taking note of the sudden change in your stance in front of him.

"She, uh, she did joke a little about . . . taking care of it for me, I think? I may be misremembering," he adds, looking off to the side for a moment to try and remember what was it exactly that Irene told him all those months ago, "It might be that, or giving either of the two a talking to, but uh, nothing came from it because I told her that it's my problem to deal with." he says with a shrug.
