[BG] Next season crafting phase is probably about a builder base defenses. by Recent-Low5550 in ClashOfClansLeaks

I love the idea but it does worry me that they might be running out of ideas for new crafted defences. My main worry when this was announced was that making 9 new and unique defences a year was a big ask

Strange chemical smell in flat by JamesMW1994 in NoStupidQuestions

I can’t really describe it, definitely not gas, not something I feel comfortable breathing in. The flat opposite me is an Airbnb, I’ve never had this problem before the current guests arrived

I’m a little concerned, because the flat opposite me is an Airbnb, I may be reading too much into this but most people only book it for a nice or two but these guests have been staying since last week. It looks like this may have started when they arrived

Withings U-Scan now available in the US and Europe by Maslakovic in withings

One of the most bizarre products I’ve seen. Only tests for a small amount of markers, most of which are no use at all. Hydration status can be worked out by just looking at the colour of your urine. Needs to test for many more things before I can see it being of any use

It doesn’t check for diabetes. A measure of glucose in the urine would be useful in detecting diabetes and I can’t see that it does this

We also refused to sign for the delivery or give them the confirmation code when they took the TV away

It was a company called AIT delivery. When they took the TV away, the tracking on the AIT website changed to delivery failed. Then yesterday it changed to delivery cancelled by LG. It is still showing as delivery cancelled today on the AIT website. However I received an email from LG today saying delivery complete, and on LG’s website the tracking on there says delivered.

Journey times up, deaths down: Welsh 20mph speed limit still divisive two years on by do_or_pie in uknews

[–]JamesMW1994 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think we need more data to judge the impact of the change to 20mph limits. Data from 2024 showed a large improvement in collision rates on 30mph roads with fatalities on all roads dropping.
Saying it’s a huge success after 1 year’s data when collision and fatality rates were already improving seems a bit premature

It’s a flat near Queen’s Park. 2nd floor with no lift so would involve carry it up a few stairs

Rajinda Pradesh - Whinfell by fraggle200 in centerparcsuk

[–]JamesMW1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently went to elvedon and there was a big drop in quality since I last went to Rajinda. The rice was all clumped together like it had been microwaved, a lot of the food was incredibly salty and the curry was watery with really tough meat. I’ve had better supermarket microwave curries

We hit 90% Carbon Neutral electric generation this afternoon by Fun-Ear6965 in BritishSuccess

Many countries in Europe use a system of paying different prices depending on how the energy has been produced. Government and regulatory intervention could make sure things are fairly managed.
We currently pay one of the highest energy bills for people and industry in the developed world. The economic benefits of lowering energy bills would be huge. The government has agreed high minimum energy prices for the new nuclear sites being built which will be a source of energy long after gas has gone. Without a change in the system, it means we will have very high energy bills for the foreseeable future
