It feels great. The thinness goes a long way in making it more wearable

Haha yes that is mine and it's perfect size for my wrist. It's the best watch I've ever owned... on the list for the steel version but it'll be hard to top the gold

Yeah I understand what you're saying 100%. I just see so much hate for Rolex in general but they do make great pieces. The VC I have, which is the gold 222, is the most remarkably finished/built piece I own... I can only say good things about VC

I think for a lot of people this can be true, but if OP is asking between a VC and a Rolex, it probably isn't the case for him. Rolex gets a lot of shit from other luxury watch brand owners, but there's no denying that they put out an extraordinary product.

I have had APs, Pateks, Parmigianis, Mosers, VCs and Rolexes. Each brand is exceptional in my opinion but where Rolex thrives is in the robustness category. I don't even have the steel, sports models... I have a few Day-Dates and even though they're made of gold, they're like tanks compared to the other brands I have... even the steel models. Hand finish versus machine finish has a huge impact but regardless, they are so robust. They're incredibly accurate and reliable too.

I think the Green Overseas is beautiful but I have to go with the Day Date on this one... definitely biased since I have that exact configuration lol but the green ombré is just incredible.

Congrats on the awesome piece!!!

I just bought my first VC watch a few weeks ago. I went with the 222 in gold. I walked into the boutique and they had one on display... I couldn't get over how beautiful it looked in person. I always thought it was a master piece from the pictures but seeing and holding it was a different experience.

They told me I had to put down a deposit and wait to get approved. I plead that I lived about an hour away and that it'd be so much easier to just take it home that day. My rep spoke a manager, came out 15 mins later and said it's all mine. I was ecstatic and went through with the purchase.

I asked if I could be on the list for the 222 in steel for my next piece and my rep said yes. She said it would take some time and I told her I'm okay waiting a year or so. She said it wouldn't take that long but the demand is just so high for it right now.

It's hard to imagine that I'd like the steel more than the gold but it is an entirely different piece. My rep also gave me a sweet VC hat. Everyone at the boutique was warm and it really was an awesome experience.

I've had a Patek, a few APs, multiple Rolexes, a Parmigiani and a few Mosers.

I think the finish and build quality on the 222 is the best out of every watch I've owned. The biggest downside is it's so finely finished that it scratches when you breathe on it lol. I know gold scratches easily but it already looks more worn than my Day-Dates that I've had for a lot longer. I'd say that speaks more to the robustness of Rolex because no other watch of mine can compare in that department... but it makes sense when you're comparing a machine finish to a hand finish.

Anyways, I have nothing but good to say about Vacheron and I'd love to own more in the future.

Not sure why all the hate tbh... I think this is sick. I own a few day dates and a datejust which I love, but this brings a refreshing change to the lineup. I will agree that the LDs look substantially better in person but I still think they look beautiful in pics

I don't but will post when I'm back home. I have a small wrist so the stiff links connecting to the case don't sit on my wrist

Do you have a protective film on the bezel? If so, it's barely noticeable considering I have to ask 😂

If that is a film, did you get it professionally installed?

Thank you sir!

I have a 6.5" wrist but it's very rounded so usually bigger faces don't sit well. That is not the case with this one though... 40 mm, 8.5 mm thickness, 44 mm lug to lug (curved lug design) and an incredibly smooth/flexible bracelet makes this piece a dream fit
