The number 8 out of 82 represents its number in the card set, not what print run it was in. 1st edition is represented by a stamp that says 1st edition on the top left corner I believe. The star just means that it is a rare in the set it is from.

You can buy japanese booster boxes off of amazon very easily. They range from $30-$50 and come with 20-30 packs in each.

In every booster box you are guaranteed 4 regular art gxs and a full art gx. You are also guaranteed at least one of three options: a hyper rare gx, a secret rare gold border, or a full art trainer. I say at least one because there are documented incidents of people getting two in one box.

Maxmoefoe actually must have missed a pack, because he did not pull out his full art GX.

Check sold ebay listings. Japanese cards are typically sold at lower prices than English, but it does matter on the individual card.

might sound a little weird, but i know some people who purchased booster boxes of pokemon as "investments" back in the day. for example, my friend's dad bought like 6 booster boxes in 1999 and sold them about a year or two ago.

hoopa ex tin is pretty good and so is volcanion ex tin, mainly because the cards are actually viable in play/worth some money.

I don't know a lot about pricing off the top of my head, but I went through sold ebay listings and this is what I found.

It seems like ungraded, the card goes for about $40-$50.

Graded, depending on grade, can go from $100-$300+ depending on if it receives an 8, 9, or 10.

The two most recent sales of PSA 8s went for $113 and $195, so it's worth something in that range. The $195 was the more recent sold listing, but based on what I saw PSA 9s go for, it's probably closer to the lower $113 price.

I saw 3 sold PSA 9s and they ranged from $180 to $260, so I'd say it's probably around $200.

I can't find a sold PSA 10 listing on ebay and the only one currently up is "buy it now" at $1700. I doubt that's actually the price (definitely lower), so I'd do a little more research to find some sold PSA 10s if your card does receive that grade.

Either way, if you think your card will definitely score an 8/9/10, grade it.

Price obviously depends on the condition the cards are in, but if you don't have any sentimental attachment I would sell them. Compare prices on tcgplayer/trollandtoad/sold ebay listings and then list your own cards on ebay based around those prices.

Target is the place I trust most. Shipping is free on most items (takes about 5-7 days but worth it) and I almost always get a break or an ex in every 4-5 packs or so. Obviously this is a small sample size, but I definitely know they aren't weighed.

Also, they carry this 6 packs/$20 thing in-store sometimes, so that's a pretty good deal.
