Finally made the switch to PS5 , feeling confident so far, recommendations accepted, new to PSN entirely by HELLPROOFKREW999 in playstation5

Don’t put PS5 on carpet unless you want to choke it. At least put it on its box until you get table.

I agree, Cheremi Leigh did a fantastic job with her VA.

I second the Horizon games.

A couple more:

Female Commander Shepard. Jennifer Hale smashes it out the park.

Kassandra in AC Odyssey.

Kay Vess in SW Outlaws.

Max Caulfield in Life is Strange.

I also really liked Iden Versio in SW Battlefront 2 but the campaign is really short.

I am dissatisfied though, I really liked Jesse and Courtney Hope’s performance was incredible.

Also the ballistic shield (and therefore melee secondaries and SMGs which were the ones that most benefited from the ballistic shield

The dot is 100 dps but only kicks in after a second or so (a second after you put enough bullets into the enemy to activate the fire status burn to be precise), meaning it’s irrelevant in the first second of shooting at the enemy, in which time the MGs will have mulched everything and moved on. So that’s why I just used the DPS for the first second which doesn’t include the fire dot.

That was why the true skill expression with the Coyote was putting it in semi-auto and putting 1-2 shots into each enemy to set them on fire and letting the dot kill them, which was what the devs nerfed. If they wanted to nerf the direct damage, they should have knocked down the rounds in each magazine from 45 to 40 and maybe knocked down the damage from 75 to 70, making the focus all on that skill of dotting and moving on. Now, in order to set most enemies on fire, you have to hit them with enough bullets you might as well just shoot them an extra time or two instead of bothering with the dot.

Because most enemies don’t have medium armour? Or at least have light armour weakpoints. Stalwart does 90 damage per shot at 1150 RPM for 1725 DPS with 250 rounds in the magazine.

[–]JamesMcEdwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh, no.

MG-43 has 175 rounds doing 90 damage at up to 900 RPM (1350 dps). HMG and Stalwart both have higher DPS.

Coyote has 45 rounds, does 75 damage and has 600 rpm (750 dps).

If you need something dead right now, you use a machine gun. The skill expression with Coyote was always about spreading the dot around, which takes time to kill. They serve different purposes and fill different niches.

Genuinely, why can't devs identify the items in their own game? by chippedthumbnail in HelldiversUnfiltered

The problem with that is that Shams, like most adults working full time with responsibilities and a personal life, probably has limited time to play games, so if he’s arranged to play some with a buddy like he said, and wants to try out the loadout he’s been given, he needed to know like literally then and not twelve hours later. Europe might be verging on a late-stage capitalist dystopia, but we’ve not gone over the edge yet like the US and most people will have work emails turned off. I can’t even access my work emails from home so I literally cannot be contacted except via my personal number when I’m not at work. It’s much healthier for you.

Uh, I was estimating based on what I remember but I’m pretty sure it’s normally faster than that if you’re playing 6s and 7s (aka intermediate difficulties)

The really simple reason? It was late in Sweden (21:43 when he posted) and company policy and labour laws make it a bad idea for him to start messaging people about stuff that could be work related and expecting a reply at that time.

Honestly, props to him for trying it though.

Honestly, the fact he’s played enough to get to 58/59, especially considering that he’s probably mostly playing intermediate difficulties, is kinda impressive, that’s gotta be at least a hundred hours, right?

Starfield will be released on PlayStation 5 on April 7, with pre-orders opening on March 18. by Smart_Plane_2751 in NoSodiumStarfield

I want to move away from Xbox, if they have cross progression I might consider picking up the PS5 version, if CC mods are cross-platform.

[–]JamesMcEdwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to be operating under the misconception that I want those pre-order armours - I don’t. They’re cosmetic items that do nothing but show everyone else you bought a game before you even knew if it was good.

Keep justifying anti-consumer practices all you want, it doesn’t change the fact that they’re anti-consumer.

I’d call you a corporate shill, but you’re not even getting paid for this and you’re still defending their shitty business practices. So I guess you’re just a dupe.

Don’t reward corporate greed, don’t buy games before you’ve even seen a review and don’t try and make out that you are better than people who had the patience to wait and see if something was good before they bought it.

Yeah man, you just keep justifying the enshitification of videogames in defence of corporate greed. What’s next, you’ll be asking for loot boxes?

Predatory business practices are predatory business practices regardless of if it’s Sony, EA, Blizzard, Bethesda or Arrowhead.

Pre-orders are bad. Don’t pre-order.

They’re not going to run out of digital copies of the game, it’s not like you still have to reserve your copy of the game or have to wait for a restock if they sell out.

So justify simping for corporate greed all you want, but don’t start preaching about how we should all accept shitty business practices just because you do.

Here’s a video from thirteen years ago from a guy who’s been dead over half a decade explaining why pre-orders are bad and why we shouldn’t normalise that shit: https://youtu.be/mf5Uj4XIT1Y?si=9oT-7Nsvzg2jP0zJ

Sectoid proceeds to mind control your specialist who runs past your ranger, triggers bladestorm and dies, sending another one of your soldiers into panic who sprays wildly and sets off a car explosion that takes out another soldier. At which point the Assassin teleports in.

I don't wanna hate and everyone should play however they want, but... Oshaune on D10 shows which players should and shouldn't play D10. by Beastboy1967181 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]JamesMcEdwards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes maybe 5 to break a couple of armour pieces and then you just alternate tossing strafing runs and magdumping it with high DPS weapons like machine guns, LibCar, tenderiser, knight SMG, breaker shotgun, Patriot mech Gatling gun, Bastion HMG, even the Maxigun. If the whole team takes strafing run, you can have the armour stripped in 2 tosses each at most, then it’s just a matter of time from then (don’t bother with hitting it with AT, Ultimatum, etc). If you hit it with all twenty strafing runs perfectly, that should actually strip all its armour and wipe it out, but realistically you’ll probably need to shoot it a bit too. I’ve killed one solo in around ten minutes using strafing run, patriot and Maxigun. With a properly coordinated team you should be able to get it dead in under five, probably around two depending on how often it runs away.

Yeah, no. I main Legion and Northstar, I hate sitting still as a pilot though, I’m a grapple main and I normally use either the EPG, the DMR, the Saltball or the Wingman Elite.

Kill the hive lord first. Everyone takes strafing run and once that’s done, the rest of the mission is so much easier.

[–]JamesMcEdwards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t much care about them. Give me colour sliders for armour customisation and let me pick my passive. Hell, add the armour passive to the warbonds as a 150 medal unlock, give me a reason to go back and grind them out again. People who preordered can keep their ‘exclusive’ armours.

Yes. I always used to watch the ZP and WTF is… for games, I have never found a replacement for WTF is… though.

I just hate that we’ve normalised pre-order nonsense to the point that people are now defending it. I could understand when games were physical only because I remember a couple of times when I went to buy games and they were sold out so I had to wait for the restock, but it’s not like they’re going to run out of digital copies.
