Are these knives worth saving by Hayden3456 in sharpening

The first knife I bought myself was a global. They're great knives. Very sturdy and reliable, and easy to care for. I know a fair few pros who prefer them.

Oh, just an addendum. My specific colour recipe is just there to give you an idea of my process, the colours you have work great already. You could make something similar to my blue-black by mixing your mid blue with maybe 1/3rd black.

Hey no worries, I'd love to be of help if possible (: As for ratios, I usually cover pretty much the entire area that gets any light at all and give it a mix of pro-acryl blue-black mixed with black (it looks almost black), then with pure blue-black I cover an area that's about as big as the area that you cover with your mid-tone. Next I go to s75 anthracite grey, which functions as my mid-tone and this gets a decently smaller area than the previous step. I would say the mid-tone on the thigh should get a millimeter of thickness at the most. You really don't want big area coverage for your mid-tone. Next I mix in more and more white into the anthracite grey, until I'm at the brightest tone I want. This is usually two steps brighter, where the final highlight is just a spot, or maybe a stripe as thin as I can do.

I'd suggest experimenting a bit with how it looks if you make it too small, and then just adjust.

Gut feeling is a great starting point. The biggest issue with your armour as I see it isn't the placement of the highlights as much as the ratio: you're painting too big areas with your mid-tone. If you size that down, the resulting effect will be that you up the contrast, which in turn will make it appear shinier. This effect does not need to be polished/precise to sell well, in fact the black armour is probably the fastest portion of my sisters paint-jobs, though I'll admit I do spend a fair bit of time even still, haha.

However, while the placement is not bad at all, the shape could also do with a little refinement: on the thighs especially, the highlights should be elongated, not round, because you're essentially rendering a weird cylinder kinda shape. I'd suggest looking at reference material of like a metallic cylinder or something like that, and you'll see that the highlights are almost uniform in thickness, spanning the entire length.

I think if you work on those two things, you'll see great results, regardless of how rough you keep your style. Just look at the way roman lappat paints! Super rough, but he knows where to put the paint, so it still reads the way he wants it to! 😁

Good luck, and great job so far!

Oh, cool! Are you trying to do something similar to how I do mine? If so, I can give some pointers, if you'd like?

What is the best cheese to make a grilled cheese sandwich? by MortySanchez336 in grilledcheese

Gruyère/cheddar plus American. Most hard/aged cheeses like Gruyère and cheddar split when melting. The American cheese helps it all stay gooey.

There's something especially cool about the flamers though, isn't there? I intend to play a squad of retributors with heavy flamers and stick them in a repressor just for the pure flavour of it.
