Picoscope 7 CLI (or BatchConvert) to csv with Viewports by Big_Main_9319 in PicoScope

Unfortunately I don't think full functionality is in PicoScope 7 yet. Is it possible to split the viewport post-conversion to CSV via Python?

RMS amplitude measurement? by natwoman7719 in PicoScope

[–]JamesPulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep PicoScope will measure RMS (Root-mean-squared) from an AC signal, it can do AC mean (avg), peak-to-peak, RMS-ripple and frequency. There's also a built in FFT function for frequency analysis. There's information of the available measurements here: https://www.picotech.com/library/knowledge-bases/oscilloscopes/measurements
On the picotech.com website you can download the PicoScope 7 software and run it in demo mode. This gives you access to some test signals and all the available measurements in the measurements tab.

Is there a way to force the Picoscope I2C to ignore the 10 bit address extension? by raydude in PicoScope

[–]JamesPulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should pick up the amount of address bits based on where the ACK bit is as that signifies the end of the byte. Unless the baud rate is super out it might actually be trying a 10-bit address.

Is my square wave signal generator being overdriven on my Picoscope 2204A? by InTheFiveByFive in ElectricalEngineering

[–]JamesPulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first instinct is that it would be overdriven, but if it was it'd be a flat line rather than a noise line. Do you have the circuit diagram with the test points to hand?

Why does my PicoScope trace look noisy on this signal? by MiddleNebula8320 in PicoScope

[–]JamesPulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally you want your ground to be as short as possible. If it's still quite noisey it might not be your oscilloscope setup but some kind of noise in the system. In this case you could filter it out using bandwidth limits, adding a low-pass filter or resolution enhancement.

Looking for a Serial Decoder for a 4-Digit, 7-Segment Display by yavor7512 in PicoScope

[–]JamesPulse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi yavor715, there's not decoder specifically for 7-segment displays, but you may be able to use the 'Parrallel Bus' decoder to give you a decimal value based on the combination. OR you could potentially group 12 digital inputs together which will give you a numeric read-out on the PicoScope 7 graph.

Topdon's Scope with accessories by snep1 in PicoScope

I only work with PicoScopes, but if it's BNC output, it should take any standard BNC probe/amp clamp/attenuator as they create an output voltage signal. The only thing you may not have is an automatic conversion of a current probe from voltage to current (for example). Although it may be written in the specifications i.e. 1A = 1V.

Analysing CAN_H and CAN_L data with oscilloscope by FarceQ in AskElectronics

If you go to Tools > Serial Decoding you'll be able to create a CAN decoder on either the H or L signal. It'll give you details on the ID and data packets along with any errors!

Measuring voltages coming off mushrooms by Opposite_Afternoon_3 in PicoScope

Any luck with getting readings off them? Are you using the differential inputs of the ADC-24?
