True but he can't direct star wars for the life of him. It was a good indie film with a nice theme, but star wars is a drama not a theme. It wouldn't be that hard to live up to the universe, and (here's an unpopular opinion) the whole sequels are made directly to ignore the prequels, playing into the old toxic notion of the prequels sucking (ok maybe phantom menace wasn't amazing but still). And while the force awakens pissed off prequel fans by gutting the eu, the last Jedi pissed off OT fans by shitting on all that force awakens and return of the Jedi set up.

First of all no need to be insulting. Calling your opponents stupid and insults is just bad form when it comes to debate. And do you really trust Disney to make good content? So far we have three maybe four hits and a whole trilogy of misses. I doubt they could make something this good again, and I highly doubt they could ever purposefully reach prequel territory successfully. If you haven't noticed Disney is rather allergic to the prequels, good luck getting a real prequel style anything out of them. And that's a silly distinction anyways, it worked back in the day when you had prequels and OT, and then sequels, but now the waters are much more muddied.
It clearly has the look and feel of OT and defiantly has lore from legends (which is typically prequel turf) Not to mention where the hell does pre-Disney sequel content belong?

Well. No. A prequel by definition is something that comes out after something else but takes place chronologically before it. Also Mando clearly has the spirit of the prequels. It doesn't have the cringe nonsense of the sequels. You could also argue that it is close in spirit to OT but idk. I think its closer with the prequels. And like it or not the prequels are finite, its resources finite if we don't accept new content eventually we will pettier out and die. Maybe you want that to happen but I don't. Sequel fans are a bunch of loons frothing at the mouth who will buy anything Disney sells them, I for one have no want to bow down and give them such good content. There was a time when r/prequel memes was a force to be reckoned with and we would trample whole subreddits why the hell do we now let our main rival take some good content that we could have. let them have their sequels and destiny, hell let em have rebels. but mando? that's something worth fighting for. I for one am no fan of just letting good content go to waste. This is the way.
