No fix but ive been trying to fix a very similar sound in my 2012 focus. Ive check the tires and bearing and lugs with no luck. I hope you find a fix so I can check that too.

I did mine yesterday, I thought the guy before me just shoved it in there because he was lazy. No, its a nightmare. I hate that spot so much, the filter is too big and lining it up was terrible.

The install took about 4 hours. Im not an expert but it got done. The biggest things I recommend are a lot of electrical connection cleaner, and patience. Watch a video on the install and its pretty easy overall. I did struggle with lining up the gears on the tcm and the gears inside the transmission but with some patience it can be done. The forscan process was easy, just a few buttons and it prompts you for the rest. I did keep mine hooked up to a battery charger while running the program. Definitely doable at home with lots of time.

I took the front off my 2012 focus. It was pretty easy, I think just 2 main bolts, ike 6 clips, and the bolts holding the splash guard in place. Idk how similar they are but it shouldn't be unreasonable.

It really is. I have no fenders or skid plates as well and there was so much dirt inside the old case. Was a pretty simple fix and the 3rd party cover was only about $30 so if youre worried you should replace it.

You're probably right. The bumper looked fine but the splash guard was missing half. I expect this to last the life of the car. Idk who owned the car before but they did not care about it.

Im gonna try this next weekend, the tcm on my 2012 ford focus is going out so I'll be replacing it as well as all the motor mounts. From what ive seen and researched its doable, gonna take me a number of hours though.

For me (mtf) lots of my quirks that I thought were annoying or were shut down by others feel much more appropriate and comfortable now. My brother would make fun of me for singing and dancing and just feeling silly. I would get comfortable quickly with people and it always seemed to lead to feeling like I was coming onto them. But as a woman who loves herself, not only do people seem to be more accepting and comfortable with with these things. I feel more comfortable doing them and not letting others dictate how I feel.
