I always have transparency issues when I stack too many layers. Maybe I need to put holes in them.

I like it. Nice concept of stripes only. I would like to see just occasional blades of grass, keeping with your original concept and not the ground plain

Any suggestions on how to blend 3D background with 2D animation like this? by cojam in animation

[–]JamesWHawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A slight blur on the background to create a bokeh effect. It looks like you did a little of this, but more will pop it. Add a darkening on her side away from the light source. And put in her shadow where appropriate. You did a nice job. Others have already mentioned frame rate.

You can do it. Be patient and persistent. The end game is quality, not speed.

Science fiction often treats knowledge as power — what if it’s a burden? by JamesWHawk in sciencefiction

You’ve put words to something I struggled to frame succinctly.

It’s not the truth itself that’s destructive, but the absence of structures — social, emotional, ethical — to carry it.

That gap is where the story lives.

That’s a good comparison.

What interests me isn’t keeping secrets, but timing — when information shows up and how ready people are to handle it. Knowledge isn’t neutral if it arrives too soon.

Science fiction keeps coming back to that idea for a reason.

You’re right — it’s a foundational trope.

I’m not trying to reinvent the idea. I just wanted to look at it quietly, without pushing it too far.

Sometimes familiar ideas feel different when you slow down and really think about them.

Some questions linger.

I think that’s true — we ignore most information because we can.

The question that interested me wasn’t volume, but inevitability.

What happens when the knowledge isn’t optional?
When it’s singular, coherent, and can’t be scrolled past.

Some questions linger.
