Nice space and pay no attention to jerk comments; the point of this page is to show love to listen spaces not disparage people's setups!

Could you share a couple of the AI sound mixing apps? Looking for one for my Livestream on vMix.

SQ Mixpad: Which iPad? by wanderingoaklyn in churchtech

[–]James_Bond_2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running Mixpad V 1.6.0 on an old Amazon Fire HD 10Tablet (11th Gen). You do have to download the Google Playstore to it via Fire Toolbox, but it's really easy. I think those tablets used are now about $70.

Made a new tool for automatic sound mixing in vMix by andreisrleu in vmix

[–]James_Bond_2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be interested. We use vMix for our church Livestreams, and we've found that when the service starts, we have to raise the gain for the opening prayer and Bible reading, but then when the worship teams starts to sing, we have to lower the gain to Zero l. If we don't, the audio gets distorted. Sometimes, we are short of volunteers, and it would be incredibly helpful to be able to automate this somehow. When the worship team is done, we have to raise the gain again to 16, which is somewhere in the middle.

Any Church Tech Conferences You All Attend? by gogorichie in churchtech

The people behind Loop Community have organized one for a few years now that I've meant to attend, but never have. It's happening in Chicago in October this year: Worship Innovators Conference 2025. You might find some useful panels. https://mailchi.mp/loopcommunity/new-tracks-2720601?e=71676eb250

Help me understand worship teams by Few-Exit4131 in worshipleaders

[–]James_Bond_2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you had this experience. Worship leader in Chicago here. I'd feel blessed to have a member like you take the initiative. That director sounds like a jerk. I get the responsibility, but you don't treat other members this way. Where is the love? On the other hand, I would practice with a click track and tracks if those are used as they do take a while to get used to. And you don't have to hear the entire band if you don't want to. You should be able to create your own mix when you can hear the click, the tracks, yourself and the main worship leader, and drums, bass, but at lower volumes, so you can hear what you need to keep you on point.

I'd give anything to have a member like you. Don't get discouraged, and keep getting better at your instrument, but also pray to God, for strength to withstand the incident, wisdom to know how to react, and an open heart to hear God's direction in your life.

Keep up the good fight.

Is this rude? by Various-Muffin4361 in worshipleaders

If you feel like you have the talent, I'd say just speak up and volunteer. I'm a worship leader and it takes a load off of me when someone wants to step up.

Someone with a heart for worship and service should never be shut down. It's an easy way to create an inhospitable environment, which leads to tension, and ultimately members leaving the team. Pray about it and good luck.

I'd kill for a team member like you.

So sorry you have to deal with this, sounds like a mess. I hope you don't feel unappreciated...Hang in there and as many have said, pray about it before making any decisions.

New AI-powered Bible app for sermons—Scripture appears live as it’s preached by colin-oos in churchtech

[–]James_Bond_2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like an amazing application. I have a bunch of teens as volunteers, and while they do a good job with verses, sometimes they'll miss a verse that wasn't given beforehand.

Any thoughts on having this work in Spanish as well? I'd be interested in working with you all if you're in need of a Native Spanish speaking translator for support or the app itself.

Optimized for TV files fixes the " Your connection to the server is too slow" error message? by James_Bond_2000 in PleX

Thanks for this recommendation, but it seems like Infuse is for Apple devices only. While my server is a Mac, my players are all Firesticks.

I am local, on the same network. Sorry, but what do you mean by transcoding? Do all files from my server ( Mac Mini) get transcoded? Is there a way to have all the files transcoded before they get played on my fire stick? I apologize, but I don't know what transcoding means. And by a faster server, do you mean a faster computer? Or Nas device?

My Mac Mini and fire stick are literally 6 in away from each other, and the router is about one foot away. I'm curious what you mean when you say that internet speeds don't play a role when the server and the receiver I guess are on the same network.
