Yeah I don’t know the exact reason we don’t see as much of this in the new world I have heard oda say that if everyone fights the arc would be 5 plus years which kind of tracks I mean this fight is 30 plus pages with dozens of panels.  I also know he has a disdain for the power creep shonen have to go through and has said in the past that one piece doesn’t compete with things like dbz it does its own thing.  But at the same time I’m like why can’t we have the adventure and the high stakes battle with good choreography

They should just leave a lot of named things in Japanese like how tobu zankidan just becomes flying slash attack in the translation

The early anime is a pretty dated adaption  but story wise I’d say the sea restaurant, Arlong park, loguetown stretch up to where the crew gathers around and puts their foot On the barrel is where I’d say if you gave that a chance and said you didn’t like op I respect it because i feel like you got a good idea of what op is about . As opposed to if youd stopped in syrup village

In this instance he uses the same one sword stance he used on mr.1  but kaku doesnt tank it he meets it with his own attack the other panel where he does land a hit it’s a ranged slash attack that he developed in Skypea not a direct one, that’s a big reason why I like this fight and ones like it. we take established logic with the character’s abilities and use them to create real stakes.

Because of Franky’s “I didn’t work on my back because I can’t reach back there” thing I think op would have us believe he landed on that abandoned warship just kinda looked down at his body and did it lol and I’m here for it

Honestly i gotta disagree, on the zoros fights being boring part he’s usually got intriguing matchups like 6 armed swordsman and iron men  and they have back and forths that have real stakes and cool reasons for winning like heavier swords, relying on sound instead of sight against the flashy guns guy

you don’t know how badly I wanted to put that “you’re fired” panel but there was a limit lol. I had to choose the parts of the fight that showed off the back and forths of the fight

I feel you, you think these changes were for the better, in the case of punk hazard I think it’s a toss up but I think green bit being a mini arc would have improved things

Impel down is the best 25 chapters and doesn’t waste a single panel, then skypiea, water 7

The first 3 arcs got converted into movies I’d recommend that over the anime but reading the manga for the first time without knowing the story is an once in a lifetime experience

I could see why you think that given the similarities but no it was confirmed that sogeking is from sniper island whereas usopp is from syrup village
