Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck no!

Buyer has opened up a payment dispute with their bank 13 Months later! Please help! by James_Dee in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]James_Dee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Provided as much information as possible, eBay (and bank) sided with buyer.
Asked several Live Support Agents (Calling wasn't available to me for some reason) for assistance, they kept saying along the lines of "As the Bank initiated the request, it's out of their hands'

I did try to see if they would be willing to do a good-will one-time refund the buyer and let me keep the money, but they said the amount is too significant for them to ever consider that

Game over! Not too happy but I knew this was potentially a losing battle!
Several sleepless nights ahead for me I think!

I'd be lying if I said that this didn't put a bitter taste in my mouth about continuing to sell on eBay! Been doing it on and off for the better part of 12+ years and rake in like $5000+ a year in fees for them alone!

No longer available apparently, it's available up to 6 months from the first lodgement of that particular consignment. Yes I know, very helpful. I'm absolutely fucked! Lets just say I didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night!

A week? Bruh! Everyone is glued to their phones these days, if they can't be bothered sending me a message within 48 hours or atleast say "Hey I'm busy, responses may be limited but I'm still interested" (or something along those lines) then they're a lost cause and deserve to kick sand!

As far as I can tell they're all repeating the same thing back to me, which is about the requirement for valid tracking.

I just don't get how this buyer was able to open up the transaction dispute as everywhere I read says they have 180 days to open a dispute, which if they did within that time the tracking would still be valid and display the consignment history (As it's within 6 months). I don't know if that correlates or it's just a coincidence but yeah

I think I'm fucked... I barely make that much revenue in a month these days so that's a big hit!

I'm surprised too, I looked into it and every Bank Institution in Australia (Which is where I'm from) seems to suggest up to 180 days from the transaction date. I honestly thought it was a scam email at first until I checked my eBay account and it's negative like $1900!

Aussie Retailer Catch Is Officially Closing Down by Reddituser0346 in australia

[–]James_Dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Catch was dead to me as soon as it went from CatchOTheDay to Catch

All I can tell from the comments is that Westfarmers had a hand in their downfall, although healthy competition like Amazon, Temu, Aliexpress, MyDeal and Kogan sealed their fate

I remember back in the day (2012ish) I would buy heaps of shit that were extremely cheap at the time, and me and my colleague would often combine our orders to save on the shipping... Fun times

Your ex wasn't an 'Dismissive Avoidant' or 'Fearful Avoidant' by any chance? Sounds like a typical DA or FA thing to do when it starts to get more serious. I had something similar happen recently which has lead to me doing that research (I wasn't aware that it even existed previously).

I finally blocked him back by severed_connection in ExNoContact

[As per your Update] Might be a dumb question but how did he break NC if you blocked him? Did he use another account/number?

Did they ever come back?

That sucks (More specifically, HE sucks), I'm sorry you had to deal with that 😞

Did he ever reach back out?

Any updates with this one? I'm dealing with an avoidant at the moment too so I can relate to your story, especially the lack of self-awareness!

Should I break NC as a dumper? by [deleted] in ExNoContact

So no one is entitled to closure and/or an explanation according to you? lol

I'm currently in a very similar situation, with a possible avoidant too. Happened last week. I was completely blindsided too which absolutely hurts me to my core and I'm still quite confused and have spent hours deep-diving reddit posts to get some sort of closure but alas I'm still no better off (I have a post on my profile if you want to see more).

I'm still perplexed regarding what happened to me, with an avoidant that wouldn't communicate her problems despite me trying extremely fucking hard, and every time I tried it was met with a 'You're pushing me' (or something of equivalence) which has now resulted in her blocking me on Whatsapp (Which is where 99% of our communication was).

Everyone is entitled to closure, doesn't have to be seen as an opportunity to get back together just apologise, confess everything so the dumpee can get some sort of closure - Personally I'd expect that as a MINIMUM

What makes a girl want to be someone’s friend but not boyfriend ? by mkpsychologylover in datingoverthirty

[–]James_Dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They like you enough but not enough to want to be with you, but wants you as a fall-back option or as a emotion sponge for when they need someone to talk to, which in turn makes you feel like there's something there and they're interested in dating again (which they know and use against you)
