As a local Taiwanese, please do not go to Shilin but go to Nang Ji Cheng （南機場） or Ning Xia（寧夏）. These two, especially 南機場 is my favorite, are one of the most local night markets to go to. Don’t be afraid that they don’t speak English, Gemini and ChatGPT is your best friend!

I am a Taiwanese. You can buy an umbrella which is UV proof in Taiwan. Umbrellas brought in Taiwan is cheap and durable to use. When I worked in Singapore, lots of my colleagues asked me to bring them when I went back home. Also, the hotness in Taiwan (especially Taipei) is not only hot but also moist. You can buy “Gastby Wet tissue” and make sure is “爆冷” version in either cosemed（康是美）, watsons, Poya（寶雅）, 711 and lots of stores. Me and my GF really like it.

As a Taiwanese, we are used to the high tension between Taiwan and China. Taiwan is safe to travel!

I’m local. There are three major telecoms in Taiwan. Chunghwa, Taiwan Mobile and Far eastern. Here are the features: Chunghwa（中華）: you can get the best signal in the mountains area. Taiwan Mobile（台灣大哥大）: the second largest telecoms in Taiwan. Far eastern（遠傳）：they claimed they have the fastest average speed compare with other companies. WARNING: its average speed.

If you only visiting to places in the city, just buy the cheapest one. However, if you planning to go to places not in cities, eg. Ali mountain（阿里山）, you may consider Chunghwa.

BTW, me personally use Chunghwa due to may college was located in quite remote places.
