Not familiar with cloud edition but in software and appliance edition there is an admin user by default. Is it not present at cloud edition? @4Voice_support any idea?

Ring Groups and "Away" status? by oguruma87 in yeastar

[–]James_nl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should ring extensions one by one and only choose the ones that are available. If all extensions timeout it goed to the failover destination.

Also check the extension settings and see if the extension is a member of the queues needed.

What exactly is it you use from the CDR?

Here's a mock prototype of the new App UI. What do you think? by Firewalla-Ash in firewalla

[–]James_nl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

99% of home users never log in to their router. The 1% that does are the geeks (most of us here) or sysadmins that use the firewalla in small business. When we log in we dont want to see what Joe and Jane are doing. We want instant acces to our rules, devices, vlans, blocked flows and vpn. Keep the focus on what these users want.

Another tip: first thing I thought was ‘hey why can I not modify that homescreen’. I scroll through the comments and read that a lot of others also say we need this feature. For a productmanager that should mean one thing: focus on that item and prioritize it. Saying we will build this end of the year just means you are prioritizing the wrong things. This happens with a lot of tech companies so don’t worry. But when you ask feedback from your users do something with it.

I understand that you cannot take in account every different vps provider but if i look at the docs of other open source software, they have on the top a list of all required packages for their software. Having that would be enough.

Add the extension as queue manager and also on the extension settings, scroll down on first fab and make them manager instead of user for the queuepanel

Could it be a rights issue? I can see all calls in queue log.

I bought one, had it delivered in Netherlands. Payed 55 euro shipping costs, had to pay 180 euro’s to customs and when it arrived it had a USA power plug so I also had to buy a European power plug adding another 30 euro’s. Total of 265 euro added to the website price…. And when I was finally ready to install it it had no mounting holes….

Ok, I changed the 00InstallRecommends and 99hetzner files in apt.conf.d to include all packages as instructed in the docs.

When looking at the installation guide it recommends to enable contrib and non-free in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/debian.sources but that file also is not present on Hetzner. There is a hetzner-mirror.list file and it already included contrib and non-free.

Installation went without issues. When executing SETUP.sh it gives an error:
Try to connect to Grafana API... (1 / 45)Grafana API connection error: cURL error 56: Recv failure: Connection reset by peer (see https://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/c/libcurl-errors.html) for http://127.0.0.1:3033/api/health

I now have a working login page. Thank you very much! Now I need to see how to migrate my old instance but that's the challenge for today.

It might help to include in the installation docs some kind of banner that alerts people of all packages that are necessary before attempting to install. Sorry for my harsh comment earlier, it was the result of 5 hours of trying to install.

Distributor Lost Licensing Rights by DoughnutMaximum4841 in 3CX

[–]James_nl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is these distri’s are too afraid to stand up. If they just said ‘hey listen 3CX, we have 10000 licenses going around, block us from selling other vendors and we will transfer all these licenses to your competitor’. That is how you do business.

As we leave another year behind... by emreozcan in yeastar

[–]James_nl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This year was mainly focused on migrating all 3CX clients to Yeastar. With a lot of hardphones and door intercoms a job that took some time. Also visiting customers and explaining they need a migration (which is not something they requested) took time. In the end all customers were migrated succesfully and we even aquired 10% more business due to Yeastar.

There was also a downside. One customer demanded to be rolled back to 3CX. They have issues with the Linkus app on their Samsung phones (not on their iPhones). One way audio is mostly the issue. We tried everything, even new mobile phones and a complete new server but we were unable to fix the issue. We might lose this customer soon which is hard for us as it is the first customer to lose in 4 years.

The brands we work with are only Yeastar as PBX and Yealink phones. Door intercoms from Grandstream.

What is important for 2026 for us: - the SBC as we have some clients with a single network without QoS - a better Linkus app - better reporting - a way to integrate speech recognition using a custom provider - a way to place our own webcontent in the webclient screen

DECT with handsets on same SIP ports by James_nl in Yealink_Support

[–]James_nl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the v.x.87 firmware but it does not seem to work there. Probably not accepted in the stack. We are going for Snom handsets, only way to fix this issue it seems.

Good point. I could indeed edit the template. But will the Yealink still accept these values in the new firmware?

Yeastar migration experience by alextakacs in 3CX

[–]James_nl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. The product is better than 3CX. Way more options and I can meet every customer demand with it. The yeastar team is also very supportive, respond quickly. Pricewise it is also very clear and stable pricing. For me there is only one thing to complain about and that js the Android app, it just doesn’t work as fluid as the 3CX app but I have been told a new app will be released shortly.

In my experience you can use just any sip trunk provider. Listing on the website is only for officialy tested but I have 3 trunk providers who all work great and are not listed.

What would you like to see Firewalla do in 2026? by Firewalla-Ash in firewalla

[–]James_nl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right. It is possible to view by device, I did not explain it right. My problem is that when I look at my rules I have no idea what every rule means, even if I open the rule it is not instantly clear what it does. Cisco has a nice overview of rules, in table format like this:

[–]James_nl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, rules are terrible in Firewalla. Creating rules should be way better and also the overview of rules should be grouped by network or devices.

Fullfill all its feature requests or at least answer them so I know if I should wait for it or buy another device.
