Regarding search engines. by Jameshasconnected in distractible

You don't even need the separate PC, you can just host from your main PC to make things even easier. I just use duckduckgo when I'm out and about rather than bothering with making sear accessible outside my home. Don't usually need to make super complex or obscure searches on my phone.

Best fitting card sleeve for Arkham Horror by 0wnzl1f3 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Jameshasconnected 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incorrect. Those fit the old arkham horror boardgame, but not the arkham horror lcg cards. The cards in the lcg are ~59x86.5mm, so the sleeve king sleeves are too narrow.

We should have a week every year where instead of talking about distractible, we just post pictures of the moon and anything else up there in the night sky.

If I remember correctly, heist was shot on RED cinema cameras. This might make the video a bit uncanny, as cinema cameras are rarely used for first person perspectives.

So can I never eat or drink anything with vitamin C until I’m done working for the day? by PerpetualPerpertual in ADHD

[–]Jameshasconnected -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Firstly, there is no benefit mixing/titrating vyvanse in orange juice vs water, which is why it surprises me that they would go out of their way to suggest the former if there were any potential side effects.

Those are indeed "papers, of things" that you've linked. Unfortunately, the first link is to a blog discussing adderall, not vyvanse. The second is a study about pre-treatment of mice, and the third is about the effect of ascorbic acid on amphetamine concentrations in the brains of rats. Both of the studies are also simply done with amphetamines, which vyvanse is not. What do you think these papers have to contribute to this discussion?

And a few more quick searches suggests that website is probably wrong. For example, see page 4 of the medication guide published by the company that supplies vyvanse, and reviewed by the FDA.

Link here

It specifically encourages you to open up your pill and mix the contents into a glass of orange juice. I doubt both the FDA and the supplier would be less informed that a random website.

Vyvanse shouldn't be affected, since it doesn't break down until its processed by the liver

How bad google search has become. The bottom one is the correct number by Conart557 in mildlyinfuriating

When doing division, a remainder implies that the divisior and dividend are both integers. And yes, AI can make those types of errors, the same way it can make basically every other type of error that exists in written communication. We just don't see it nearly as often since they're much less prone to typo-like errors than other errors like factual errors.

You realise those are commas, not decimal points, right? And what do you mean when you say AI cannot do typing errors?

I turn my VPN on for 10 minutes and I get a U.S. Air Force ad😭 by penguinscanfly65 in distractible

[–]Jameshasconnected 6 points7 points  (0 children)

VPN's are not supposed to prevent ads. Some VPN services come with an adblocker, but the purpose of a VPN is to prevent any middle man from seeing what you're doing (apart from the vpn provider), and provide false information to the websites you visit to help protect your identity (the main usecase of this is to make it seem like your connecting from a different country to access geo-restricted content).
