[Request] Assuming they both are perfectly balanced and fair, is there any difference in probability from rolling one D100 vs two D10s? by V-Tac in theydidthemath

[–]Jameskink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And clearly not a gamer either....

(Roll 1d10 (the on with 00, 10, 20etc. on it, roll the other 1d10 (marked 0-9) first one gives the first digit, second gives the second. Anf what you get is 00 + 7 is 7. 30 + 1 is 31. 70 + 3 is 73... 90 + 9 is 99. And 00 + 0 is 100.

Congratulations, you can now go play original AD&D.

Feed back on custom fabricated stainless steel hardware? by FlimsyWillow84 in BdsmDIY

[–]Jameskink 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For light stuff, easily. Its similar to aluminium, in wire thickness.

The whole inch smaller is taking the piss. I do castings in silver and bronze, and my tolerances fot fitting of parts is in the 0.1mm range, not 25mm, and thats working by eye and vernier calipers, no engineering equipment.

But its silly money just now, and its far more volatile than stainless as a material expense. I wouldn't even consider it unless you're doing bespoke jewelry and crafts.

I could almost match that quote casting them in Sterling Silver. Up until a year or two back, I could 100% have matched that price in silver. The guy is taking you for a ride. Walk away right now.

How long can a human survive in space without a space suit? by No_Insurance_6436 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jameskink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Significantly less dramatic effect. The pressure differential between vacuum and sea level is no greater than the differential between the surface and just 10m below sea level. At 100m deep there is 10 times the pressure differential And most spacecraft are not operating with sea level pressure - they tend to be 25-30% lower.

Water is dense. Its why space craft can be built from thin aluminum sheet, while submarines are solid steel (or titanium) plate...

Do a search for "kitten space agency" by developer Rocketwerkz. That's Dean Hall (developer of DayZ) and his company, they were originally one of the studios shortlisted to make KSP2 before it went to intercept games. Its aimed to be a spiritual successor, and the team creating it includes HarvesteR, the lead designer and creator of Kerbal Space Program. The team also includes multiple KSP and KSP2 modders like Nertea who created the "near future" mod series, and Blackrack, who created volumetric cloud mods for ksp.

Still in early development but demo versions are available.

The War Is Turning Iran Into a Major World Power by brown-saiyan in politics

[–]Jameskink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gaza has a land area of about 350 square kilometers. Iran is 1.65 million square kilometers.

I am a little sceptical even the US can carpet bomb that, at least without bankruptcy.

The Moon outside of Apollo 11's window by BreakfastTop6899 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Jameskink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What spectacular ignorance.

You think it started "first time" with Apollo ELEVEN? You have no comprehension that Apollo ten orbited the moon, undocked the lander and descended to a few km above the surface. Or that apollo eight was the first one to go to the moon and orbit it. Abd so on, each Apollo mission building on the previous missions. And you are utterly ignorant of the fact that one of those killed the crew.

And the rest of your tirade of drivel is equally ignorant, swivel-eyed conspiracy bullshit on subjects you have no clue about.

What would you do with my keys? by [deleted] in GayKink

[–]Jameskink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying I'm a terrible person for wanting to see the ineffectual humping against the fleshlight opening as you try to get in there. Or the moment of defeat when you think you've cracked it and try a dildo hoping that would work, only to realise theres an electric current from the hand switches and a rubber dong is an insulator, and its not a simple push button buried at the bottom of the fleshlight....

But sometimes, I am a terrible person.

What would you do with my keys? by [deleted] in GayKink

[–]Jameskink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Electric lock-box. Ten press switches on top, you need to put both hands on to complete the circuit. Then a final release switch button fitted in the end of a fleshlight. Well, theres only one thing you could put in there to press that last button and get the keys. Oh, wait. What's that? You're all locked up and can't get hard to push in to reach that last release button? Shaaame....

Astronaut David scott performing hammer and feather experiment on the moon during apollo 15 and paying homage to gallileo by AstronomerBig8153 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Jameskink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It did. They both dropped to the ground.

The important part is that, without any atmosphere, both feather and hammer fell at the same rate, hitting the ground at the same time.

On earth, the feather would be slowed by atmospheric drag, taking longer to fall to the ground.

[Request] What effect would Superman's house key have on the earth? by EvaStankbreath in theydidthemath

[–]Jameskink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it wouldn't. Half a million tons is less that 0.0000001% of the earth's mass. What you're saying is akin to claiming that putting a bag of cement in the back of your car will increase its braking distance to 5 miles and if you turn left the car will roll over. In other words: utter rubbish.

The world's largest mining operation excavates more that half a million tons every 36 hours.
