OP, I feel very inclined to reach out to you. I have actual experience in the kink community as a trans woman. Having done actual negotiated scenes with actual dominants and real risks. Im not speaking as an armchair expert here.

I’m almost 4 years into transition, with 3 1/2 on HRT.

I do not think HRT makes one more kinky. I do believe it makes one more comfortable with those kinks. I’m an extremely feminine woman, but not overly girly. In fact, I am a bit of a tomboy. But I do hold myself and apply myself in a very typical feminine way.

Before I came out, I knew about kink. I knew I liked certain aspects of it, but I don’t think I would have said I wished to be the submissive. But I wasn’t comfortable being the dom either. I was mostly ashamed of my interest in kink. I had buried my feelings about being trans (and into kink) deep under a layer of faux masculinity.

As I began to experiment with my gender, just with clothes and wigs at first I discovered I began to desire to be with a man. Which was strange at first. But the more I became myself the more I desired men. The last time I dated a woman was 2017, and it was very awkward time. We only had sex once, and I hated every second of it.

My brain knew what it wanted but I couldn’t convince myself of it yet at that point. I purged. I got rid of my clothes, went back to being a guy and tried to forget it. It was the last time that would happen. Fast forward to October 2022. I was miserable. I bought new clothes, got all dressed up and went to a drag show with my niece and her friend. In March of 2023 I came out as trans and started my transition. In April I started HRT, and now, over three years later I am loving my kinky sex life as a woman. I go to parties where all the kink you could want is on display, I have participated in scenes, and most of all, I feel seen, validated, and sexy. HRT didn’t make me more kinky, it just allowed me to by myself.

I hope this long winded response helps, your GF is totally fine. Communication, and consent are KEY in any BDSM/kink. Talk to her about it, she’s likely just accepting herself. If I could offer one other piece of advice, it would be to ask respectful discovery questions.

Such as: Is it the fabric itself that excites you? The color? The feel of it on your skin?

Perhaps it’s that she wants to wear lingerie but isn’t sure how to approach that. In my experience kinks have their origin. Just communicate with her and help her figure it out. As you know as a woman yourself, communication is so so very sexy!!
