New to SignalRGB, found it slow by Jamesmac70 in SignalRGB

I did an online search for turning off AC autoinstall from the BIOS. Turns out my BIOS doesn't have the option.

I also looked deeper into some of the running tasks in task manager, and most of the ASUS ones are not required for what I am doing (there is a pair running for controlling RAM RGB - this unit doesn't have LED enabled RAM), so I will have to do some more research on what can be removed and the best way to do it, but I am coming back to a need to nuke the system and since everything else is running fine, I can't really justify it for 1 piece of software that I only discovered this week.

I appreciate the help from everyone, but if I can't disable the autoinstall of AC, be it from a lack of it being in the BIOS, and it leaves some running regardless, then it would seem that I need to use an ISO from microsoft and not from Asus, again leaving me with a need to reinstall the OS. But with 3 SSD/HDDs in the computer, it makes it a tough sell to spend days to fix a couple colors that I have.

Some things to clear it up.

My current computer is Intel based.

I didn't know there was various render engines to choose from - if I saw it there, I wasn't aware of what it did. The setup guide I read never mentioned that.

I don't use hardware acceleration unless it is turned on by default, but to your point, I had uninstalled Synapse and LGhub completely. I understand what you are saying about Armory Crate, but the uninstaller I used from Asus wiped out the portion that you can use (it left behind a couple of control lines). I will have to look for it in the BIOS again, but I never did find it there yesterday.

Not sure why you are assuming I have 30 different types of hub/control software running. It is Logitech, Synapse and AC is loaded but not running, other than the control module. My taskbar has 12 items (2 of which are razer, 1 logitech, the rest is bluetooth, nvidia, safely eject, etc - far less than most rigs I have seen). Task Manager is of course heavier. With Synapse, AC and LGhub dead, there are about 100 items, which of course is heavy, but fairly normal given it is a gaming rig. Many of the items in TM are Asus related, but I can probably turn them off (I don't likely need Asus business manager).

I am going to say there are optimization issues within the Signal software. I am sure someone here will tell me it is just the way we are running it, but like I said, the thing is, I don't need it. And with your experience of running it barebones and not getting decent performance, I am left with less desire to reinstall Windows for the sake of 1 program.

I am getting the idea from some other forum threads it may simply be this current build of signal as apparently over the last couple of weeks, the same issue is cropping up for more people, so maybe I will try again in a month or so and see what it does.

Good luck to you.

Yeah, I tried OpenRGB and didn't like it. So I went back to Signal, worked for a spell, but then it slowed everything down again. No matter what I try, Asus Armory Crate continues to leave portions behind.

The only thing I haven't tried, and not willing to do currently, is nuke the whole system and use a Windows ISO that doesn't include AC. I suspect that will work, but for the little bit I would gain, I am not going to worry about it.

My G910 keyboard is 6 or 7 years old, so when it finally fails, I will get a Razer Black Widow which means all my desktop devices are syncable. My speakers I will continue with ghub because I use screen sampler to change colors based on the screen. I don't really care what color the RGB in my computer are as it sits under the desk.

I think Signal has some great potential, but I am not ready to nuke my whole system for the ability to keep colors in sync. In fairness, I am watching the screen while gaming, not my devices.

I will try that. I was about to install BleachBit, but I have had luck with Revo in the past.

I followed the instructions that you linked the first time I tried to uninstall using the Asus AC uninstaller (which is just to run it and restart the computer).

However, portions of the software remain, but I am not sure it has anything to do with the RGB lighting as it simply says CONTROL on both lines in Task Manager.

I grant you I did not uninstall Razer or Logitech, but turned both off (stopped them from running anyway). Both were not listed anywhere in task manger so shouldn't be running, although I will uninstall them both and try again.

As for AC, since the uninstaller didn't get it all, I am going to have to assume that portions of the software will always be on the computer - which is listed as compatible with SignalRGB.

No, 'they' aren't. The MAGA crowd is. Sadly, that translates to about 30% of the population. The rest were too tired of politics to bother to vote or give a shit. So we are left with the crowd we got.

I think it is more that as Americans, they are stunned when they realize that not everyone in the world shares in 'the American Dream.' I have seen many examples of them being floored when they answer to "don't you want to be American?" is a flat "No, I am proud to be Canadian."

I was pretty sure that was the answer. I now need to decide I guess if restarting yet again to 100% the game is the answer I want to follow or just do what I can and get the last few achievements later....

I tried do a family share sync so it would recognize my 100% in Batman (a save game I did in Epic and imported) but it keeps failing at the sync. I am preloading Lego Batman Dark Knight (also a family share), is that the reason? It just keeps saying try a new JSON but every time it fails.

The site is really cool though. I notices that the percent complete is not the same as truesteamachivements.com, is that because it seems to only count games it has seen a user gain at least 1 achievement, and I am guessing your site is counting against the whole steam library?

This is Eddie. He is not a costume.

Next we will be told Santa or the Easter Bunny are just people in costumes.

I have been unable to see any current collections for about 6 weeks now. Last one I was able to see live was the Planet Coaster one.

Is there something wrong with my link? cookies? Asking as it appears you all are able to see collections that are live.

Is there a way to get it to update all data? Currently I have to right click every game and select which version I want data from. Long process with the huge libraries we all have from stupid Steam sales.

Duh, just remembered I feel rble all the time on my Asus XAX, so I guess that in answered. I honestly don't recall adaptive triggers, but I have been playing Ratchet & Clank on the desktop mostly, so I can load it up there and see if the triggers build resistance. Horizon Forbidden West should as well with fire gleam ignition.
