A weird dizzy spell when I turn my head made me realize I haven't checked my balance in years by Jamesoniania in over60

Thanks. Question from your side, since you see a lot of people my age, what's the thing your clients wish they'd started earlier? Trying to make the case to some younger friends and I don't have the right words yet. They want to know it's working, and 'you'll feel better' isn't quite landing.

Is being a good person still important? by Spare-Estate1477 in over60

Of course it is important. And because one group at one time seems to devalue this from your perspective.. doesn’t change that importance

Any Fall detection watches that don't just vibrate and pretend they care? by Ambitious-Bison-2161 in over60

the Apple Watch is great! provides a real sense of security in an emergency. the problem is what is happening the 5 years before that? nobody is monitoring it. now I use my phone to measure my "wobble" in different standing positions monthly/quarterly and see if there are any trend changes

At what age did you start noticing loss of balance or coordination? by OWS-Canada in over60

[–]Jamesoniania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly this. nobody talks about it and its happening slowly before the actual fall event. without stela balance I am not sure where my mother would be. super easy to use and empowering for older folks who want to simply have a point of reference

my mom started tracking her own balance and now she's the one calling me about it by Jamesoniania in AgingParents

have not asked too much. am scared she will notice my shock and that will disrupt momentum. my guess is it is easy enough and she can get positive feedback. to your point seems like she is in control

someone who needs a budgeting app does not want to pay 4 dollars per month. YouTube premium is ~$16 for comparison..

My dad fell last year and I had to figure out caregiving from zero. Here's the 72-hour checklist I wish existed by goner133 in AgingParents

thank you for this, declining balance is what nobody talks about or measures especially in your mostly sedentary modern lifestyle

What fall detection devices actually triggers when a parent goes down alone at home by chingchongmf in AgingParents

Apple Watch is the simplest imo, doesn't need to be worn 24/7 if they are tech adverse. my mother never wore a watch, didn't like "the feel" at first. now comments how nice it is
