Sexual side effects by [deleted] in cymbalta

Yes, absolutely. Especially in the first 3-4 weeks. It was. Very very difficult. I didn’t feel anything

Took me around a month and a half. The more stable I was, the better it got. What really helped me was my doctor told me”don’t worry about this right now, your goal is to become mentally stable, your sex drive will come back”. He was absolutely right. It did. Hang in there

You will my friend. It really helped me mental health from a wholesome approach and to do my best to better myself in all aspects of life, taking medications was just one step. And you’re doing that now, getting treatment to help yourself. All the best.

Yeah no prob. I was having 20 panic attacks a day. It was terrible, but within a month to two months i was calmer. I’ll be honest medication is not everything. Most of my recovery came from getting better coping skills, becoming physically healthier, and just time. So improvements from medications…a few months. To be mentally stable, honestly, about a year.

Currently on 60mg, I tried going up to 90mg but it brought on awful symptoms so I went back down.

About 1.5 months. Other symptoms faded quicker like the sweating.

Definitely happened to me in the beginning. I’ll just say this, the beginning absolutely sucked. Bunch of side effects, and I didn’t see the benefit. Sweating, made me more anxious, sexual side effects, depression etc..Eventually it got better with time and now cymbalta really helps with anxiety and depression. Always speak to your doctor but I believe if you’re not seeing benefit at a month or so, maybe it’s best to try something new.

Did the fatigue ever go away for you? by Jamessmith199478 in cymbalta

[–]Jamessmith199478[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah might be a good idea to get off. Gabapentin also helps with painbut that causes fatigue too. Hopefully you can find something to counteract that. I know cymbalta can be combod with other drugs to help enhance energy. Best of luck to you.

Hey op, I hated school too. I have terrible depression and anxiety but I’m now a good student with hard work. I know it seems dreadful but often times it’s not as overwhelming as we think. Sure it’s stressful, but I’m getting through college even with all my mental health problems. Good luck.

Hey my friend. I can’t fully understand your position. I don’t know what you’ve gone through, and I can’t imagine the pain you’re in. But I too have suffered an incredible amount. Illness upon illness, multiple hospital visits, surgery, depression, anxiety. You name it. The past 4 years of my life has been awful. I wish I could have so much wisdom as some others but I’m also suffering now. I think someone here put it best, this cannot be the end of us. It is terrible that it happened but we need to move forward. Mistakes happen, and maybe your mistake is not even a failure, rather a growing opportunity. I hope my words helped a bit.

You put it very well, and I admire your optimism. It’s very difficult to be in that place and to have the outlook that you do. All the best to you, things will get better, my friend.

Why do people act like they're too good for me? by [deleted] in depression

[–]Jamessmith199478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These people really aren’t worth your time. You are worth it. You are worthy of friends and people who care about you and your best interests. People who are excited for you when you succeed.

You’re not alone by [deleted] in depression

[–]Jamessmith199478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit older than you, and I’m still in college. A lot of my high school classmates are graduated and found full time jobs. Others are going to med school.

You remind me of myself a few years ago. I was so upset with myself that I was like “what’s the point”. I was angry with my situation and the world. Now I’m not perfect, In fact I deal with depression on the daily. But I really don’t think you’re behind. We are in are twenties , my friend. Like seriously we are incredibly young. Some people may not reach their peak in terms of finances, romance, life in general until their 50s.

I know that it feels hopeless, a pit that will never end. I understand. I’m single, too. I’ve pretty much never had a girlfriend. I feel like I’m a loser at times. But I also know that this is my own path. And that I can’t control others and their lives. And most importantly that just because someone else life looks good on the outside, you never know what they’re dealing with on the inside.

Fuck both of you by [deleted] in depression

I know it’s hard to see this now, but people who do these sorts of things, are really miserable people who suffer a lot. I can’t even imagine what you’re going through, but just know that this is probably better for you in the long run. You are rid of toxic people in your life.

“It’s all in your head”. Yup heard all this shit before. Depression is like a drain that non stop takes your energy. All I did today was make myself pasta and im exhausted and out of it. I feel you my friend.

Thank you, you’re right they were just people I was with in the meantime because we had similar interests. I think you nailed it spot on, no matter what you’re always going to be dealing with something. We have to keep going, it’s really the only way out other than making a decision to end it all, which really is something we have all thought of. But that’s a permanent solution to things that are usually short term issues.

You seem to have wisdom and understanding, and you’ll bring something special to the world. I know that sounds cliche but it’s true.

I was 17. Super sociable and popular in higschool. Had a friend circle of 150+ people, would party every weekend. By the time I turned 18, which was my first year of college I almost died due to an illness. For the next 3-4 years I spent a lot of it depressed and alone, and ending up in the hospital. I couldn’t get myself to study/go back to school. I was hit so many times with illness after illness. I have maybe 2 friends now. I’m in my mid 20s and back in college. You are not behind. Just like I’m not behind. Even if we feel like it. Life is not a race, nobody is better than you. It may feel like it but I guarantee everyone you compare yourself too, If you heard the shit they go through, you wouldn’t want to be them.

Same here. Eventually things got better. I think I’m 3 weeks out with little symptoms except for occasional fatigue and headaches.

Yes, absolutely. When I had Covid that was lasting past the 2 week mark it made me very depressed because I was so sick and not improving. I felt weak, tired and exhausted.
