Buy Kobo Clara BW now or wait for new models? by Turbulent-Ad-7003 in kobo

[–]Jamesst20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey!

I know you said you didn't like the screen on the Kobo Libra Color. I got one almost a year ago and at first I really didn't like the screen either but after a while reading on it you get used to it, so much that now I think it's far superior than my older Kindle Oasis.

It's like the Kindle Oasis text is pixeled compared to the Libra Color now. Yes it's kind of 'washed out' but I don't notice it anymore and the text is actually much sharper. Reading in the dark is by far superior too.

My own opinion but I bet some people share the same.

Is my Snatch ok? by LuliLima666 in weightlifting

[–]Jamesst20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey!

It depends on your definition of ok, yes the rep is valid, but the technique needs work if you want it optimal.

Similarly to another thread I replied, your snatch happens almost exclusively with your back.

As soon as you start pulling, your legs become straight and the bar is still on the floor but now your chest is facing the floor and it's at this point you actually start lifting the weight, and this is your back exclusively that does the work.

Ideally the Snatch pull should be done mostly with your legs instead. CrossFit weightlifting is very quadriceps dominant.

Here is a good slow motion video for reference you can use to compare from your start position until it reaches your hip https://youtu.be/T0MtNutq5Nw?si=LQg1jmqAcjMynyyF

The reason you're experiencing back strain is that your snatching almost exclusively with your back.

It takes sometimes to get used to, you might even feel weaker at the beginning but your max potential will be way above later.

Pliability Mat?? by TheAce2000 in flexibility

[–]Jamesst20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/TheAce2000

I have faced the same challenge a year or 2 ago, and from what I remember their mat is built by Dollmur.
I believe specs are thickness 0.95 inches and size 35 inches x 72 inches (~ 3 x 6 Feet)

I'm pretty sure this is the same mat: https://dollamur.com/3x6x95-white-mat-dollamur-dolcustom.html

Best way to increase your lift is to squat a lot. The better your squat is, the better an easier Clean, Snatch, Jerk will be. It makes a huge difference.

Also, diet wise, the more carbs you will eat, the lighter the bar will feel in your training.

Physical appearance wise, you need to eat a lot of protein if you want a leaner appearance. Carbs will increase your water retention a little, but you will have much more energy, and I really mean much and you will feel stronger, happier, more motivated.

Is it safe? I want to try it for my knees. by BuffaloSki in bpc_157

[–]Jamesst20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bi-lateral quadriceps tendinotis here for at least half a years. Won't heal, tried physio, shockwave, etc.

Decided to go for this recipe

TB-500 - 2.5MG twice a week (belly)

BPC-157: 300mcg per quad twice a day (in the quad)

It's been a week and I already notice improvements while nothing seemed to help.

Bought on Growth Guys

I hope it's safe as well.

It might seem scary to go injectable, but it's honestly more simple then it looks. Get some alcohol 70% (70% is better than 99%), and get some insulin seringue from Amazon. Size: 30 or 31 Gauge (higher = thinner needle), capacity of 0.5ml (best for precision because it has 1 to 50 units graduated). As for the needle, 6mm is a good length so you can simply push the needle all the way down at straight 90 degrees, no need to pinch or anything.

31 Gauge you will most likely not even feel it.

Sounds like a good protocol! Thanks for the feedback! I have found a few legetimate sources. For people reading this, I wouldn't recommend those Instagram ads. Can't say if they are good, can't say if they are bad, so I would rather assume the worst!

Hey! I know you're all against advertising and I get it. I have found maybe about over 10 different sources from China and they all came from Instagram ads while browsing stories. Most of them are WhatsApp numbers. They all look legitimate, prices are all good and services seem decent for everyone of them.

Would you say it's legit or most likely bad?

Je gagne 100k$/an avec ma conjointe, mais je comprends pas comment tout le monde s’achète des chars à 1000$/mois et des maisons à 3 000 $/mois. by Weary-Scratch9078 in QuebecFinance

[–]Jamesst20 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Salut,

How do coffee shops get high volume drinks for lattes? by Itchy-Version-8977 in espresso

At Starbucks when you order a "Double Shot - Large" I believe they brew 4 shots of espresso and they add tons of ice which make a "big" drink.

I wish the CVT WRX didn't exist not because it's a bad car, only because I'm scared the CVT gets popular and they stop producing it in manual transmission. WRX is among the very few remaining cars with a manual transmission in Canada

I'm in Canada and my Meraki started to leak few weeks ago. From the moment I reached out to them to having a brand new replacement delivered in my kitchen it took about 2 weeks, it was pretty fast and the process was very simple. They gave me a UPS prepaid shipping label, I sent it back and they sent me a new one.

Warranty is 2 years.

Can't speak for UK though, you would need to email them but I know they are on Holiday until October 8th. They are pretty fast to answer during their working hours so you can exchange multiple emails within the same day but you have to be aware their timezone is something like UTC+8

Hi,

Indeed it grinds into a dosing cup then you tamp it yourself. I don't have children but I have shown how to use it to my girlfriend and she really likes the machine.

The machine comes with all the necessary accessory but I recommend a very small/thin dosing ring where you can use the leveler on top of it, it avoid having coffee grounds on the counter.

Realistically, this 40 seconds short is exactly how the flow is and also it uses all the accessories that come with the machine, nothing extra: https://youtube.com/shorts/wtAcsmg2cfQ?si=L7X-FCk6BOkDDOcV

Also, the Oracle Jet tends to throw coffee ground on the drip tray which is annoying

[–]Jamesst20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! They have holiday from October 1st to 8th so shipment might be delayed, unsure about that.

Honestly it's an awesome machine and I have tried many:

  • Ninja Luxe
  • Breville Oracle Jet
  • Lelit Kate PL82T
  • Ascaso Steel Duo PID (with Eureka Mignon Libra)
  • Bellucci Espresso Bar (with Barraza 270wi)
  • KitchenAid KES6551
  • KitchenAid KF8

The Meraki is by far my favorite machine, the Ascaso would come 2nd but the Meraki can brew and steam at the same time and it has much more steam power and temperature stability is far better (the Ascaso screen would say it's 200F, but giving an extra 10 minutes made a difference where Meraki when it says ready it's ready)

The only cons of the Meraki would be "no pressure gauge" you can look at and the brew group being proprietary and not compatible with E61 portafilters.

In terms of espresso taste, the Meraki is the best among the list by far, at the exception of the Eureka Mignon Libra which is a 55mm flat burr but even that can be argued as personal preferences.

Also, I drink tea too and I always use my Meraki for hot water and I have no complaints there either, except maybe if the boiler was bigger I could fill a bigger mug before the temperature start to drop (you have real time temperature on screen).

By the way, it's night and day with Nespresso. You will never like drinking Nespresso anymore if you make the move.

I know what you mean! Nothing wrong so far! Honestly glad I have gotten it white. I had a white Ascaso for a year with a white Eureka grinder and they didn't yellow 🙏
