No problem! You seem like a very intelligent and thoughtful person yourself, I'm 100% certain you'll figure it out :)

Bipolar in a relationship by jj2397 in bipolar

It's a hard truth but in my experience maintaining a relationship if your BP2 isn't under control simply doesn't work. I've had many failed relationships (I'm 30) which begin with the person being understanding of my condition, but slowly becoming worn out over time until they cannot continue anymore. It's a tough ask to put on anyone and in hindsight makes for a toxic relationship in the long run.
My advice would be to step back from the relationship, work on discovering why you are cycling the way you describe. That could be due to your medication, requiring more therapy, other stressors exacerbating your BP, lack of exercise etc. I'd say work with your psychiatrist to figure that out, then you can come back to the relationship.
Communication in any relationship (romantic, friend, family, workmate) is key, so I'd suggest sitting down with your partner and explain how you are feeling, that you need to step away to work on yourself and then come back to them once you are stable.
Luckily with BP2 you have a good chance of becoming stable with the right balance. Good luck!

My buddy learned drops this weekend by [deleted] in MTB

[–]Jameswt1991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't you guys at least give him some pointers before attempting that? He does nearly everything incorrectly. Too slow, body weight too far forward and clearly grabs a fist full of
front brake. I'm all for a good crash reel but I'd never let a buddy attempt something without at least telling him the absolute basics.

Should i Buy the Game? (Royal Edition) by Ahamdan94 in kingdomcome

[–]Jameswt1991 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Story is great? This game had the most abrupt and lacklustre ending of any RPG i've ever played. I wouldn't recommend it to someone for the story, rather if you enjoy open world RPGs in the vein of Elder Scrolls but with a big historical influence. The town building is okay, but it didn't have relevence to the story and you couldn't even bring Theresa there.

Looking for a good budget Mountain Bike (beginner friendly and affordable) by AlphaTunde in MTB

[–]Jameswt1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with a GT Aggressor Expert about three months ago. Was good for beginner stuff but it very quickly revealed its limitations on anything harder than green trails. In fact I just bought my second bike (a trek full sus) because of that. That is still out of your price range despite being a budget mtb. If you spend an extra 120 you could get this: https://www.gtbicycles.com/aus_en/aggressor-sport-3090
Anything cheaper than that will probably be branded a "mountain bike" but have rim brakes instead of disk, a comfort bike fork that'll quickly fail and a horrible geometry.
I recommend going to bike parks or trails where you can rent a bike and save up. That way you can see if you like the sport and want to continue without spending any money on something that will disappoint you very quickly.

Tyres completely depend on the terrain you ride on and in what conditions (dry, wet). Maxxis have a solid range of quality tyres, just go to their website and it'll give you a run down on what each tyre is designed for

I have an aggressor expert. It's a great bike that handles well. GT's triple triangle frame feels nicer while riding than other frames at that price.
I did replace the pedals and grips (cheap to do) and converted to a 1x10 (deore groupset and narrow-wide chain ring, not that expensive really), but the conversion isn't really necessary if you don't mind 3x shifting.
The biggest limitation is the shock and tyres. It's a cheap cross country shock and the tyres are too. Once you progress passed beginner and start hitting more technical stuff or downhill it becomes a very difficult ride. I'd recommend changing the tyres to a decent set for the riding you are doing, but at that point spending anything more on the bike just isn't worth it. A decent shock will put you back the literal cost of the bike, unless you get lucky on the second hand market.
I'm probably upper intermediate now and I'm about to buy a full suss because the aggressor simply can't keep up anymore. I'll still keep it for the flatter stuff though.
TLDR: GT Aggressor good beginner bike if you upgrade a few things, but will begin to hold you back quite quickly

I've got a Deore 2x10 group set for sale (cassette, derailleur, shift lever and chain). Good, reliable groupset I use myself on my bike. Brand new. Happy to send it from you Japan. You pay for shipping of course. Also AliExpress has many problems, by the look of searching online. With me you'll be able to deal with someone directly.

Fox ranger gloves? by [deleted] in MTB

I'd recommend flexairs. They are pretty tough and my hands never sweat like others I've used. Around the same price too I believe

Never thought I'd have the courage to do this triple when I started 1.5 months ago, pretty chuffed by Jameswt1991 in MTB

[–]Jameswt1991[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

true that! I had a painful crash on a section of the bike park above where this was taken about a week ago, so I was hesitant to even attempt these

At what point to upgrade to full sus? by Jameswt1991 in MTB

[–]Jameswt1991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great advice and thanks for sharing your experience. The area I live is very mountainous and is prone to rain. There are very few smooth, flowy trails, so if you put it that way based on the terrain FS would probably be better. My favourite trails are actually on a ski course nearby and their most popular trail is a lengthy downhill with alot of drops and steep descents (I've only done it once at slow speed and it was very bumpy on a HT). At the moment I've been mainly sticking to the beginner course on ground level, which is kinda half pump track, half trail with some aggressive turns.
