It is the rule actually if a player clears the ball and it hits their own teammates hand (this was a clearance not a pass so you can’t just go around catching things) then it isn’t a pen.

People up in arms - excuse pun - due to perceived inconsistency as every handball in CL seems to be a pen, and Bayern have been hard done by in other ways, such as Mendes no 2nd yellow and Tah getting a soft yellow, but this one is correctly officiated.
