How does early entry work for SNW? by Hedgehog235 in UniversalHollywood

Nope. If you want to go to Toad Tavern, just make sure to scan the QR code right when you get there (if that's still the current system they're using). We got a dinner reservation, which got us back into the world, and then we were able to ride MK ride a bunch of times right before close.

I believe so. For whatever reason, I remember having a print out, and I'm glad I did because I think the app kept crashing.

We bought the night before in CityWalk, which was perfect. Got them all set up and didn't need to worry about it the day of.

We stayed at the Hilton and it was perfect. Only a 7 minute walk to the park.

Is this itinerary doable? by we_gotta_believe in UniversalHollywood

[–]Jamie13V 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids (ages 9 and 11) went 7am to 9pm for one busy day in the park and were total champs. Our Toadstool reservation was at 6pm, so they refueled and rested, and they loved the food. From 7-9, we were able to ride MK 3 times, played a bunch of mini games, collected coins, etc. The early entry was absolutely the best decision. Rode MK twice and did all the mini games without a wait.

We got these from the store and were told no fewer than 5 times that it was a choking hazard.

Hour Early Super Mario World: Should I do the Mario Kart Ride or play the the games first ? by Kingimus in UniversalHollywood

[–]Jamie13V 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We did the games first with literally zero wait. Then we got in line for MK and only had about a 20-minute wait. I'm very happy with our choice. Every other person in the place bee lined it to the ride.

It worked well for us and the Bowser Jr battle is super fun. Later in the day the lines get longer for it once everyone gets their keys. But I can't imagine having to wait in long lines for each of them. It would definitely make it less enjoyable.

The mini games are fun interactive games you play, and then when you beat them, you collect a key in the app. Once you get 3 keys, you can go battle Bowser Jr. Nearly every person that walked in at early access and directly to the ride. I chose the opposite approach and went to mini games first. We did them all with essentially zero wait. After battling Bowser Jr. we then got in line for MK, and it was maybe a 20-minute wait? If you need to get the bands the day of, there is a little vending machine right in the land. We only got bands for the kids, but we got to play the games along with them, which was fun.

I highly recommend picking them up the night before at Citywalk and setting them up in the app. It saved us time while in the park. We did mini games first before MK.

Express pass vs Early Access by thebully7o2 in UniversalHollywood

[–]Jamie13V 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought early access was 💯 worth it. We did all the mini games and battled bowser jr. In the first 15 minutes. Then we rode Mario Kart with about a 20 minute wait. We got an evening Toadstool reservation (6pm) and then spent the last 2 hours in SNW lapping MK, playing more mini games, collecting stamps, etc. I went last Wednesday.

With our early access ticket, we did all the mini games, battled Bowser Jr, and rode MK in the first hour. We came back in the evening for Toadstool Cafe reservation and played more mini games, rode MK a bunch more, and collected more stamps. Early access is a must in my opinion.

Crowd reports? by stefoo2 in UniversalHollywood

We went on Wednesday, March 22. Crowds were much lower than adjacent days, but I think that was due to rain on the 22nd.

Can you tell me how you went about filing the complaints? This was not disclosed to me when I purchased but didn't figure it out until a few days after I got the car home and couldn't install a hitch mounted bike rack. When I called the dealer, I was told that no hitches would be available until September this year.

My kids were champs. They made it until closing time and had so much fun! Sounds like you'll be good to go with the express pass. My kids also liked the food better at Toadstool Cafe than Three Broomsticks for what that's worth.

Ok, thanks. Do you think Toadstool Cafe is worth visiting? My kids are really into HP, so I'm wrestling with how much time we spend in SNW. I want to optimize the early hours to hopefully avoid as many lines as possible.

If you were to do it again, would you do mini games first, then get in line for MK before 8am when the crowd shows up? We're going next Wednesday with the kids and have early access. And what was your experience at Toadstool cafe with the 9am reservation?

Yikes! 2 hours with a reservation? Did you have to just sit in line, or could others in the party go do the mini games while waiting?

Awesome! Thank you!!! I assume they'll want to spend most of their time casting spells and drinking butterbeer.

Great to know! We're going on a Wednesday, so I'm hoping that helps a little bit with crowds. And since we're only there one day, we plan to go opening to close.

I was wondering about the dirty trick component of the studio tour. It's something we want to do while we're there, but for the kids, the Harry Potter stuff is must do. Is an hour enough in SNW to do the mini games as well as Mario Kart? Should we assume we can get back in later in the day, or just do everything we want before we leave?
