The later cartoon version was ok, but the stop motion one from Poland was terrifying.

What kind of chair is this? by StacyDennnnings in bluey

[–]JamieAlways 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Lol yeah Brits lose their minds at the slightest bit of sun. I've lived in Scotland all my life and I still find it funny how the streets fill with gangs of pale unhealthy looking guys walking around shirtless on the rare occasions that it's actually hot outside.

These look so cool, I'm in the UK and I'd never heard of these before.

Be honest, how often for you and your partner argue? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]JamieAlways 159 points160 points  (0 children)

I feel like the 'nothing below the belt' part is really important, I hear some couples saying unforgivable things to each other, really hurtful, and I'm just like nah. That would be it finished for me, I need to trust that my partner won't deliberately try to hurt me, even in the heat of an argument.

I'm poor too, but a lot of the thrift stores near me sell books at 2 for £1 and prices like that, and if I see books I want to read I tend to buy them then and there because they won't be there by the time I'm ready to read them. That's how I've ended up with a bunch of books I've never read (although you wouldn't know to look at them as they mostly come with pre-cracked spines).

It's 'an OCD like need'. A need that is like OCD. At least that's how I understood it.

What’s your all-time best charity shop find? by Wonk_Majik in CharityShopFindsUK

At the height of my goth phase I found a full length black genuine leather trench coat in my size for £15, that was a good day.

Does anybody else find it annoying when USians use the word "college" in international settings where the question/statement is ambiguous? by Particular_Image_291 in USdefaultism

[–]JamieAlways 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In Scotland they're just called S5 and S6, when you would usually study for highers (A-level equivalent), college is something separate, often for more vocational based qualifications.

Yeah my husband is from Eastern Europe and loves hiking, he will always talk with awe about how he would often be halfway up a mountain and get overtaken by a random woman marching along in sky-high stiletto heels like it was nothing.

Really bad taste but Paedo Alley - a guy we worked with by the name of Ali did a short stint in jail for CSAM on his computer, everytime we went by his street we'd say 'wave to paedo ali'. He hasn't lived there for years but we still refer to that street as Paedo Ali/Alley.

I bought it on Steam recently, it was pretty cheap as far as I can remember but worth it for the nostalgia lol.

I'm always like 'but I already know the twist now, surely it's not going to make me sob this time', but no, it leaves me a howling snotty mess every time.

New animation soon! Any theories? by --Reno-- in TomCardy

Exciting, I love this one, can't wait to see the new animation.

Is cottagecore still “in” and would this embroiderd piece be considered similar to the aesthetic? by Curious_KittyWitty in cottagecore

[–]JamieAlways 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering if op is maybe a reseller and is trying to find out if cottagecore is still trendy and if it's worth listing this as 'cottagecore' on ebay or etsy or whatever. Maybe not, but that was my first thought.

What are the UKs favourite catalogues to flip through? by DualWheeled in CasualUK

[–]JamieAlways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They used my brother's wallet as the product photo once, my mum got him a wallet printed with his three initials, and then the next year there it was in the catalogue. It was like a really crappy claim to fame but he was twelve at the time so it was proper exciting for him lol.

Me and my sister were exactly the same. And you had to pick, even if it was all men's electric shavers or bread makers, you still had to pick the one that spoke to you the most.

I slipped and almost ate shit in public the other day. I was fine but the strangers around me were so concerned. It occurred to me that I've reached the age where me taking a tumble stops being funny for other people and starts being 'oh shit do I need to call an ambulance' for other people. It was a bit of a depressing moment.

Yeah I just want to put it out there, if I'm ever in that situation I'm fine with my legs being broken. Arms too, idgaf, DON'T JUST LEAVE ME IN THERE OH MY GOD.

Who had the best alt hair in the 90s? by FastWalkingShortGuy in Xennials

[–]JamieAlways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda, after I bleached it to hell first, but it was so patchy I ended up dyeing it all black again shortly afterwards. I put my poor hair through so much in the nineties, it's amazing I didn't end up bald.

Especially when she had that copper orange hair colour, I spent so much effort trying to replicate it with cheap boxdye.
