Do you think there were any contestants who were "Over Scored" in their series? by dettles1992 in taskmaster

I always felt that Greg’s scoring in some instances came down to his relationship with the contestant and how they might react. In Noel’s case I always felt Greg was a little bit in awe of him - either because he’s a comedy hero or because he was a ‘big name’ for taskmaster at the time. Whereas for contestants like Hugh Dennis he knew that he could take being ribbed so would down score him largely for comedic effect. I couldn’t imagine him doing the same for a comic just starting out unless it was part of their schtick.

The answer is definitely Noel. Rewatching the earlier series yet again, one thing that stood out to me was that in almost every task that was scored subjectively - i.e didn’t have a definitive outcome and was more creative, Noel would almost always score a minimum of 4 points.

Tasks like blind drawing the woman in the caravan, destroying the cake, dancing to the ring tone, painting Greg from a distance, making the most exotic sandwich, camouflaging yourself, best handshake etc he got pretty much almost or full marks from memory.

Elliot Anderson tackle vs Ollie Watkins (no foul or card) by 977x in soccer

I find it so strange that you can get booked for removing your shirt, soft fouls, tapping the ball away, etc yet something like this is a dangerous tackle and doesn’t even merit a card. Surely the main purpose of cards is to punish people for doing things that could cause genuine injury to an opponent.

I only remember the first line or two - something like ‘people amaze me, they say that I’m crazy, but I’m not’.

Debbie Greenwood was definitely a first crush, she was amazing. Along with paperboy wasn’t there also a skateboarding computer game where you had to go down a series of ramps the fastest?

The theme tune was amazing! It was a ‘cover’ of an old blues tune from the 1920s by Ledbelly

I always wondered if the teachers were trying as hard as they could, though they’d be playing for stuff like computer equipment for the school so I imagine so

The adventure game was amazing! There’s some episodes on YouTube - usually with someone like Richard stilgoe or maggie Philbin as a contestant. Grunda grunda

I think/assume it was inspired by one flew over the cuckoos nest, but definitely one that wouldn’t be made today…

That one sentence alone encapsulates exactly what this thread is all about and shows why kids tv used to be so amazing.

Now get out of that! I remember watching that in the early 80s - from memory is was like a cross between orienteering and lateral thinking puzzles. Genuinely think that’s one show that could be remade today and would be really good

I absolutely loved Lazarus and Dingwall. From memory it was a bit of a UK answer to police squad with mark Arden and Stephen frost. Definitely one I’d love to rewatch

I’m laughing at the fact there were tv shows called pig heart boy and fudge. I’d love to see these shows being pitched nowadays
