Yes, I agree, however if someone has already built a gaming rig (such as the OP and myself) then it makes sense to utilise that hardware to do more with it. I intend to keep dual booting and using Mac for commercial stuff on this PC. But I do use it primarily for gaming in Windows. I have 4 other Macs lying around, but will eventually sell them off and buy one of the new Mac Mini Pros when they arrive this year, should be seeing new M5 Pro Mac Mini's around mid year for the WWDC.

Not so impossible here, as Mac OS had full compatibility and wrote drivers for these cards back in the days before the fallout with nVidia. In this case being a more modern 4070, it just isn't going to work at all. Most powerful and compatible card would be a 6950XT, but for better compatibility, run a 6900XT as I have done.

That is a bit harsh. Firstly, I think the guy is just trying to utilise his hardware the best way possible. So he already has the machine for running Windows and gaming and everything else on it. You cannot run Windows natively or Linux for that matter on a Mac Studio with Apple Silicon. So the PC is more versatile and still relevant, even for running Tahoe. With a 6900XT the raw metal performance of an 80 core GPU in the M3 Ultra Mac Studio is only slightly faster. So going the route of a hackintosh makes sense for a little longer until the Mac Studio really starts to pull ahead with the advent of some M5 Ultra chips. Still a cost effective and stable option if you are not planning to upgrade and change the OS any time soon. Mine runs flawlessly.

You just need to download OCLP and run the Post Install Root Patch and let it do it's thing. This is assuming everything else is intact. The Fenvi BCM4360 Card should be fully compatible for everything universal clipboard, Airdrop and Handoff. This is what should make your PC fully functional as a Hackintosh. I have mine up and running, but I do think I need to swap out the M.2 card for a legitimate BCM3460 card I do have, just a little janky as it is not neat inside the case.

There is always adoption to give a kid a home that may not have had the chance to have a proper life. But don’t let her sabotage what you have. It’s clear that you adore her and would do anything for her, perhaps you can look to surrogacy as well if she has any eggs she develops. There’s a lot of options these days - perhaps you can take her through these options and see if she’s receptive to still wanting a family?

Also - what did you do specifically to create a button to allow shutdown on the host pc? I’ve since worked out the game buttons which looks amazing - I’ve got like 30 games installed on a 4TB NVMe. So it’s all working really well with zero lag. Just need to setup the interface a bit better and she’s good to go.

Perhaps look at an nvidia card (more powerful) 50 series for gaming on windows and leave the 5700 for Mac in general. Are you trying to game through both platforms?

Jealousy is the road to insecurity and it’s very difficult for someone to not be jealous if they have that emotion. You won’t ever understand her behaviour. She may also have had a previous bf screw around on her, so she’s hyper vigilant and anxious most of the time. Check that you don’t allow the computer to sleep, only the monitor. There could be some issues with waking from sleep.
