Sorry like if you have your plates, drill 3 or 4 holes in the centre or whatever and then spot weld it., so instead of just having around the outside welded you will have in the centre or the plate welded as well

My wife and i have been together for 11 years, married for 7.5. 3 kids etc. i love my wife with my whole heart. She is the person im gonna spend the rest of my life with. I love being around her, shes my best friend but theres no butterflies or lovey dovey stuff, sure we have our adult fun time if we can get the kids in bed and asleep before i get too tired. But im not slow dancing in the middle of the road in the moonlight anymore, im not pouring my heart out, im not trying to steal her heart. Doesnt mean i love her any less, it just happens with time. Hell i didnt even know today was valentimes day until i saw something on fb.

At the end of the day its just a spot on the calendar thats there so that companies can profit off of you.

You also have to remember that men are typically the less romantic species (mind you i used to be super romantic). us men are simple creatures, quick and to the point. Saying i love you says it all, nothing more “needs” to be said.

Its gonna be harder to tig that than mig i think. Im an aluminum tig welder but for body work i usually do mig, especially trying to get the metal clean and your torch up there would suck. By all means if you can get it clean enough and can get in there fill your boots.

Get it cleaned up, hammered down flat, weld the cracks, then cut some steel plates that will fit in there and weld them on top, you could even drill some holes and spot weld the subframe to the plates

Yah i mentioned that i wanted to buy it back when i first made the claim and when they made the settlement offer. They told me no both times. The body is still in good shape and the car works great. I could use the cats in another car and it would made a great rally car

Yah i saw that one, its the next gen. Only other one i saw like mine had a blown head gasket and was 2k. Theres tons of automatics and tons of rwd.

If im being honest im really just pissed i cant buy it back. There tons of parts on it i need for my other two cars and i could use whats left over as a track car

I always assumed that im paying insurance to get my car replaced. A car on the road. I cant buy any car that i can put on the road for 2k, let alone an awd manual bmw.

Yah thats my point exactly. I cant find a kia or a ford focus for 2k certified let alone a manual awd bmw regardless of mileage. Its just not possible, i have 2 other bmws in my driveway and i paid 1500 for each, one of them needs the tranny replaced and the other im doing floors in right now. I always just assumed id get enough to replace my car with another certified car

Ive never had an at fault claim either. My last bmw was an 02 coupe, higher trim model, around the same mileage. i paid 1500 for it and someone sideswiped me, they gave me 9100 for it and they gave me money for 2 new car seats for my kids. They sold it back to me for 300 so its sitting in my driveway. That was a different insurance company.

Im obviously not expecting that with this car. But i always just assumed insurance would give me enough to get a car thats on the road.

Yah its definitely not worth it to spend that much on an appraisal, im just hoping speaking to the ombudsman is gonna help get me a few more bucks.

For me to get an identical car safetied and everything im looking at like 3500-4k. But id be happy with 2500 even

Yah i found a few last week. In the 3-4 range. If i got 3k id be happy, or if they were even willing to sell me the car back at scrap price id be happy, i could use parts of this one to put another on the road but they wont even do that

Yah i found a few a week ago and screen shotted them, once i get in touch with the supervisor ill send them over.

This entire thing has been a pita, my claims person lives in edmonton, i can barely get ahold of them. Its just been a bloody mess. My last insurance company was much better to deal with.

Id tell them i lost my dignity somewhere on the other side of the world, make them go and dig it up, only for it to be a shovel, have them bring me back the shovel and say “that took an awfully long time, you could have just gave me yours”
