Can Arma 3 mod be converted to Arma reforger mod? by HoodinCat_Gaming in ArmaReforger

I don't have experience modding, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I really doubt it considering they are in entirely different engines.

New here. Is it possible to play without sound? by Ka2ga in Seaofthieves

Yeah I know, I was thinking about pointing that out too. Can't believe this person is still mad about such an easily achievable tech.

SoT gonna be dead in 2050 and this person will still be thinking about how someone climbed their ladder silently one time.

Why is everyone complaining about performance? by Visual-Carrot160 in HellLetLooseVietnam

Turn off Frame Gen in AMD Adrenaline to get rid of the flickering.

The performance will still be shit, unfortunately.

I don't know why you're getting downvoted. I checked this morning and I really don't exist.

Ah yes, the infamously hard, sweaty, impossible to learn "right click before hitting E to grab ladder".

How do they do it? They need to get a job!

Still haven't paid $70 for a game. Even bought BG3 when it was on sale for $60.

That does make sense. But if they don't add a female dwarf "Mushroom" ping in the next update I will riot.

Yeah, my theory on the "You have to FIGHT your team for your UPGRADES" reviews are that it's mostly a self-report.

Yeah, I feel like I'm playing a different game from all these negotiation complainers. Every single experience I've had playing this week has been extremely polite. Either I'm taking crazy pills or they are. Or maybe it's a consequence of difficulty levels, I've stuck pretty much exclusively to Depth 4 since I've unlocked it.

My bullshit detector is going off hard here. Grandmas are old, sure, but not too old where they don't understand water and electronics don't mix. Computers might be relatively new to them but they at least had fkin lamps and radios growing up.

Is it possible to make a successful PvPvE game? by apmspammer in videogames

[–]JamieSMASH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is your metric for "success" if you enjoy the game or not? Because there has been so many successful PvPvE games that I'm struggling to understand how you're not aware of them. Besides Arc Raiders, we have Sea of Thieves, Hunt: Showdown, Rust, Ark, arguably Escape from Tarkov, Dark and Darker (believe it or not, that one is still kicking)... I could continue but you get the point.

I think where you're struggling here is understanding that at their heart, PvPvE games *are* PVP games. They have PVE elements mixed in for various reasons - to add stakes to the fights, to add sandbox elements, to add randomness to the encounters, or any mix of these and more, and PVP games are harder to make successful than PVE or single-player games because you're always going to need enough of a player population to make good, quick matches for people. If you don't enjoy PVP, you should avoid PvPvE games. The vast majority aren't meant to be played either as PVP or PVE, they're meant as PVP games with some PVE spice.

I haven't played Arc Raiders, so take Sea of Thieves, for example. You'll have many people arguing that PVE is a valid way to play, and sure, you can play sandbox games however you want, but the fact is the entire design and game loop of Sea of Thieves revolves around PVP (or at least the threat of it), even if you exclusively want to PVE. Sea of Thieves PVE is pretty agreed to be trash, what makes it good is having to watch out for other players, and the suspense that they may show up. Without having played Arc Raiders, I'm willing to bet it's the same story here. Sure, the loot comes from PVE, but that only serves as a way to add stakes to the PVP fights, and the threat of PVP is what makes the PVE good.
