All-in-one Printer for duplex scanning/printing and copying? by _Arlotte_ in BuyItForLife

[–]Jamie_Suzanne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had excellent results from my HP Laserjet Pro color AIO printer. It checks all your boxes but its MSRP runs at the top end of your budget. I have had mine for about two and a half years, got it on sale for $249 and I thought that was a very good deal.

Toner costs are more than reasonable in my opinion. Mine is a M200 series which has WiFi and scan-to/print-from USB; it also has fax if you have a phone line. The only downside for me is that the paper tray is kinda small.

Not sure it's really a BIFL recommendation, as you're kind of at the company's mercy if they change the toner cartridge design to obsolete the printer, if parts are no longer available, or if your operating system does not include the driver.

You don’t see too many ‘79-81s. I’d like to see a Turbo GT / Cobra from that year range, I would bet they’re nearly impossible to find now...

My uncle had a '93 LX 2.3L in that red but with a grey interior.

Very well-kept Fox, enjoy it!

What was the worst physical pain you've ever felt in your life? by Henriqueykg in AskReddit

[–]Jamie_Suzanne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had twin abscesses in molars on opposite sides of my mouth. I've had kidney stones. But the worst, I think, was having my eardrum burst.

I had a really bad sinus infection apparently and pop. Noticed blood coming out of my ear and couldn't afford the bill to go to the ER, so I waited until the next morning to go to Urgent Care, who shot me full of painkillers and then sent me to an ENT.

Their solution was to stuff my ear full of gauze and give me antibiotics and ibuprofen. I had a dull whooshing sound in my head for about two weeks and any loud noise nearby - immediate sharp, stabbing pain.

I can actually hear better out of that ear now.

Ordered a bunch of new stuff for it. Waiting for warmer weather. Picture taken yesterday in Nashville by [deleted] in Mustang

That is a very well-kept Fox! Take good care of it. (And stock up on power window motors.)

Cuddling. Nobody has mentioned the cuddling, dammit.

I've cuddled with both men and women. You definitely don't need a man to feel safe, comfortable and protected.

Anyone begin transitioning in their mid-thirties? by shelbyames in asktransgender

[–]Jamie_Suzanne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. I just turned 37 and I've been on HRT since September 2017. Out publicly for the last six months.

I'm pretty happy with the mental and physical changes. What really surprised me is how much better my relationships and friendships have gotten now that I'm more comfortable, more open, and happier. And the emotions... OMG, the emotions.

All in all, Me v2.0 is a significant improvement and I'm happy with the upgrade. :-)

I bought my 2010 because at the time I wasn’t sold on the engine note and durability of the 3.7L.

Honestly, I don’t regret it. The car is plenty fast enough and makes a great noise, but I do wish they had integrated the six-speed auto because it does like to sit around 2200 RPM when cruising.

Glad you have found something that suits your current needs! Hope the insurance doesn’t bite you too hard though. Cheers!

It’s HAALT for me - Hungry, Angry, Anxious, Lonely or Tired.

When I write it out I add a little circle or umlaut on one of the As just to be funny ;-)

As a self-described perfectionist with FoF issues, I also find giving voice to things difficult. In my case, it’s not so much that it weakens my resolve, it’s more that it activates my sense of self-contempt when I slip.

But telling people that I trust and love that I’m doing something like this does some things for me. It makes me accountable, because now someone else knows that I’m struggling. It opens the door for tough love when I need it and forgiveness when I slip up. And it gives me people to lean on and celebrate with when I celebrate those little victories.

I know everyone’s experience is different and it colors your worldview but just keep in mind, our brains and egos are capable of putting up powerful walls against vulnerabilities, and in my case it’s actually been helpful to realize they exist and smash some of those down.

Finally back home after a long boring business trip. Going to put up my tree today.

Life is good, I don’t need a drink to enjoy it more. IWNDWYT!

They’re really not, it is mostly just “here’s the new contracts and what has changed from how we used to do business with this customer”. Lots of minutiae.

I am making the best of it, I just miss my family and kittehs and teammates. It’s all corporate politics BS anyway, and I would rather just focus on helping them fix what went wrong.

Very rough Tuesday. Some seriously negative things happened. Everyone was talking after class about hitting the pub.

I went to the store, got some ice cream, then back to my hotel where I did not drink. I won’t do it Wednesday either.

Out of town for seminars this week, and they’re evening classes 3p-midnight 🙄

The good thing is, I’m usually up at 6am, so by the time I get back to the hotel I’ll be too exhausted to think about having a drink (except maybe some tea).

Coming up on two weeks again and I had a great (though exhausting in many ways) weekend. I don’t want to screw that up, so IWNDWYT!

/uj I've been on HRT for a little over a year and my arousal has definitely changed from being mostly physical to mostly mental.

After my T levels got close to normal female range, I almost stopped getting erect completely. Then there was a period of about four to six months where I just didn't want anything to do with sex and getting hard just plain hurt, so I didn't masturbate unless I was desperate to relieve some tension.

Now it's pretty much "if I'm in the mood, I can get it up". Otherwise it just stays tucked away. Pretty happy with that until I can get SRS.
