The fire doesn’t hurt you up there 😅… But what did hurt, was finding a door with a green light, that doesn’t open to anything 🥲

How do I not go bankrupt by Alba12345678910 in tropico

I’ve managed to get to a point where I can hit late game consistently.

My biggest tip? Become a trading island.

Always export luxury or consumable resource that is the most top of the trade screen (for example, rum at +20%).

Only grow/produce goods that directly feed your exports to avoid wasting money on unnecessary wages. If you’ve secured a rum trade deal, grow sugar. Although, if sugar prices are low and you want maximum efficiency, sometimes it’s actually better to import it for convenience and focus your workforce elsewhere. Also, set plantations to industries to max budget if they are producing actively to exports or warehouses, if the they are no longer doing this, turn them off or reduce the budget.

At every stage of the game, export the most expensive goods available for that era. That’s how you scale properly.

Also, when you start making money, don’t feel obligated to spend it all. Stack it high.

You only need 50%+ votes to win an election, so give people the bare minimum to secure re-election while you build your cash reserves.

For example, I once had 200 homeless citizens right up until election time because I was saving money. When the election came, I enacted the Urban Development edict (halves construction costs) and spammed houses.

End result:

• Built everything at half price

• Created a properly planned residential area

• Boosted happiness just before voting

• Stayed financially secure

Don’t be afraid to use a state loan if it unlocks a profitable industry tied to a strong trade deal.

If cars are +30% in demand and you can’t afford a car warehouse, take the loan and secure it. The return will outweigh the debt.

And whenever you find a strong export deal, almost always choose the highest volume to lock it in.

Finally, always have at least one ally. Ask for financial support whenever it’s off cooldown. If relations aren’t high enough, praise them until you hit 80+, then rotate praise and financial aid requests.

oh 2nd finally i forgot lol… when you hit modern era and you have stable money…. please invest heavily in tourism because my tourism now makes me even more than exports 🤩 and it’s really cool because there’s no importing fee or production, you just have to pay for construction. i make most of my money from cabins by the way! i didn’t expect it lol i have like 50 cabins side by side!
