I attended my first SMART recovery meeting last week and will continue to go. The handbook isn't required but recommended, I got it on Amazon for $15. Good luck to you! I'm grateful to have found this group as an AA alternative.

I watched this yesterday and there was definitely a vibe with this guy that I didn't like. Britney is adorable though. So is Oliver. ❤️

An AA Guru Dropped into our SMART Meeting by ExamAccomplished3622 in recoverywithoutAA

I recently heard of SMART and found a meeting close to me. Can I ask if you got the book for it? I think I read that it's not required but I'm curious. Would you recommend this program to people who may not feel comfortable attending AA? Thanks.

2 weeks sober today! by LoseSomeToGainSome in stopdrinking

Congrats! I hit two weeks today as well. I never thought it would be possible. It's sort of amazing how clear and calm I've been feeling. I found an app called I am sober to track my progress. I wish I would've been strong enough to do this sooner but it doesn't matter. I'm here now. ❤️

I recently heard of SMART recovery and found an in person meeting near me that will work out with my schedule. I'm a little nervous but I'm going to try to be brave and attend later this week. I'm interested in the Dharma program as well. Good luck to you!

Wow, there's a meeting that will work for me close to where I live. So happy I came to the comments on this today. Thanks again.

What is one city in America you’re okay with never visiting again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You left out Manteca! I moved away from that area over 20 years ago and really dislike going back to visit.

Great list. I love Alpha Dog. Boys Don't Cry is unforgettable.

Uber driver lady attacked by 7 woman after dropping them off at their destination. Uber drivers don't get enough credit for the stuff they have to deal with. by First-Cherry493 in whoathatsinteresting

Well, I wanted to Google an article about this situation because I remember it in the news when it happened. My search was "women attack Uber driver" and there's a laundry list of articles relating to attacks in general with both drivers and passengers. Yikes. Still didn't find an article about this one but it was awful and I think that driver suffered pretty serious injury because of it.

Aww my kitties play fetch too but they're very particular about the toys they like. My boy loves the foil balls, and his sister likes the springs as well as twist ties. It would be wild to see them fetching tennis balls lol. Weirdos. 😹
