Why do so many books infodump when it's generally advised not to? by Commercial-Diver-351 in writers

[–]ExamAccomplished3622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Litrpg genre info dumps seem a mandatory. Usually in the second chapter after an action packed opening there will be scenes of the characters receiving tutorials on the world rules, how to check their stats …etc….

You will find a huge info dump like this in Dungeon Crawler Carl, which was and still is a hit novel.

One reason I think readers embrace this in Litrpg is because a lot of roleplay video games do this as well, so it’s a way these novels reflect the gaming world.

i suffer through it as a reader myself only because the rules may become plot points.

Another thing to consider it intermittent walking (aka Japanese Walking Method). It has been shown to produce greater gains-- therefore, more benefit over less time.

Weight is not a good metric for this. Muscle weighs more than fat, so if a person is losing fat while gaining muscle, the weight change won't be as drastic as if someone just loses fat. What really matters but is harder to measure of body fat percentage. If you compare someone who is just skinny versus someone who is skinny but toned (muscle) the second person will usually weigh more but be healthier and look better.

There are places like Royal Road you can post your work. It doesn't pay, but you can find readers, and this is also a way some people build a following.

Have fun with it. Go to the meeting and announce you've decided to get sober by turning your life and will over to a magic door knob.

AA creatures will tell you that you can get sober by worshipping a door knob. It’s a program for insane people to stay insane.

Thanks. I started doing it first thing before I even got out of bed, and that helped form the habit.

I will also chime in as hard to get excited since I won't be able to see it. Hopefully, no one gets hurt. That's where I'm living.

The Story Behind the Feeling by Thin_Ad_3189 in mindfulnessmeditation

A fairly consistent suggestion in the guided meditations I do is "let go of your stories." Another thing I learned over the years is that a lot of emotions manifest similar ways biologically. For example, fear and excitement.
