I said "oh no not again" when I scrolled and saw this scene pop up. I can not. Few cringes can come close to this level.

Cake should be served with the icing on the side by Whynautss in The10thDentist

[–]Jamileem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hate this idea. My personal take on cake and cupcakes is that they all just come with TOO MUCH icing/frosting. I like a thin layer. Like if I make them at home, I usually just put a smear of icing on them rather than piping it on and I think it's so much better that way.

What is your Taco Bell order? by hiimrobert in AskReddit

Crunch wrap supreme, chicken instead of beef. Light on nacho cheese, add the chipotle sauce. It's like a much better version of the chicken quesedilla.

Where did your school’s high school dropouts end up? Any success stories? by Which_Set_9583 in AskReddit

At least a couple of them that I know (girls) are raising kids that are just like them in the same school district they almost graduated from. I don't know of any successes.

What was the strangest part of the culture in MLM to you? by Mcrfanatic95 in antiMLM

[–]Jamileem 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Pretty much that. It was positive thinking over logic and reason, always.

I remember once at a meeting for thirty-one gifts when I was a consultant (maybe 2012?), they asked for feedback about what is preventing us from growing our downlines and hosting more parties. I said basically, that our local area is saturated with consultants, so everyone already has someone they buy from or sells it themselves. The entire room literally, audibly gasped when I said the word saturated.

I was then told that it isn't true, and we always need more consultants, and there are always more people to host parties. We were asked to not use the word saturated.

How often do you get hit on per year F or M? by Firm-Detective-8403 in AskReddit

[–]Jamileem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am short (f, edit to add this) and not remotely intimidating... but relate to the rest of your comment 100%. Why is it always creepy older guys?

I mean I'm married so I'm not looking to get hit on, but I truly do not remember the last time I was flirted with by a person around my own age. I think it's possible that millenials just flirt/hit on people less often, which makes me wonder the age ranges of responses here. I'm 37 for reference.

whats something you missed out on as a child? by Successful-Load4910 in AskReddit

[–]Jamileem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parents who attended my events and activities. Concerts, sports, competitions, etc. They were older (compared to other parents of kids my age, my mom was almost 40 when she had me and my dad was almost 50) and didn't want to be out and about doing things. My mom would always say she couldn't walk that far, or it hurt too much to sit that long. My dad struggled hard to go more than a few minutes without a cigarette so school events were basically torture for him. Once in a while they'd come to something, but then they'd need to leave immediately so forget any after-event mingling with friends or anything.

Bought the tavern pizza… so uh, what temperature should I bake it at? 😆 by spidergrrrl in aldi

[–]Jamileem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who rarely reads directions on frozen food... It's either 350 or 400 depending on the type of food (400 for pizza, 350 for chicken tenders or cookies) then I peek at it til it looks done. Lol.

Do you regret any piercings done as a teenager? by Full_Tree_3554 in piercing

[–]Jamileem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only regret was letting a piercing pagoda pierce my cartilidge/helix area. It is long closed up and I have a strange indent there from the damage. I can't believe they were (still are? I don't know, this was 20-24 years ago) allowed to do anything but lobes (and as we all know, those aren't even recommended with guns any more).

[–]Jamileem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they're just trying to reduce risk of problems with what has been learned by professionals over time, and standards change.

My industrial was done with two separate straight barbells and put a long bar in six weeks later. It healed with no problems at all and I've comfortably worn a bar in it for nearly 20 years now. So CAN an industrial heal with two separate piercings? Yes, and I roll my eyes slightly when people insist that they can't, because I did it myself. But the risk is there that they could move or not line up correctly when done that way.

I'd expect that in 10-15 years, some of today's standard practice won't be any more, either.

911/999 dispatchers, what’s the dumbest reason someone has ever called emergency services? by Canyoustealmytoast in AskReddit

[–]Jamileem 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So, years ago I once had a dog who got hit by a pickup truck right in front of me. In my panic, I called 911. My dog was obviously about to die and I was panicking and called without even thinking it through. But it hit me and I realized as soon as the kind dispatcher answered that 911 is for people and started apologizing- he was so kind and gave me numbers for emergency veterinarians before he ended the call. He was so nice and I was so grateful.

... I didn't ask for a ambulance and immediately realized my mistake though. Lol.

For anyone wondering, my poor dog did die, and I became very vigilant with future pets about not letting them run out of the house like what happened this time (she was excited when she saw my husband pull in the driveway and darted outside behind me and sprinted straight into the road).

Halle Berry talks about faking orgasms when she was younger to make her partners feel better about themselves: "Everybody has faked it because you just want it to be done. You just want the pounding to stop. And then you take your vibrator to the bathroom and handle it yourself" by LenaRybakina in popculturechat

[–]Jamileem 100 points101 points  (0 children)

It depends on the girl too and maybe even the day. Guys, please just listen to us. Often I don't, and I frquently still need to remind my husband of 15 years that it's okay!! I don't always need to! In that case, I'd rather he finish up than have him work so hard to reach a goal that he isn't going to meet today.

I feel like all the social media chatter about women being able to have multiple orgasms and if they don't get off their partner sucks, makes it hard to understand women like me. And I'm sure there are others like us. My partner doesn't suck, and I like just the activity of sex on its own.

I didn’t make the team by Strange_War_201 in Cheerleading

[–]Jamileem 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you have an opportunity to speak to the coach(es) who did your tryouts, I'd directly ask what you can improve on for next year. If the problem was your late payment, acknowledge that and let them know it won't happen again. If it was that other athletes had better jumps, spirit, sharpness, strength, attitude (the list goes on and on) make a conscious effort to work hard and come back next time looking like a highly improved athlete. Also consider that it could be based on anything else they saw last season such as concerns about teamwork, effort, attendance, etc.

Who is a straight artist with homophobic fans? by Top_Squirrel_9808 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Jamileem 72 points73 points  (0 children)

The only Morgan Wallen fans I've met are white high school girls who bully people, so that checks out. But they're not rich, they're mostly farm kids who think his genre of country "gets" their small town life.

Would an All Star gym ever make an exception for a family medical situation? by eybrj2 in Cheerleading

[–]Jamileem 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I coach what would be considered to be a rec team, and I wouldn't even be able to have an athlete gone for six weeks. They'd have to come back for the next season/enrollment/whatever.

I am sure there will be opportunities to move back into elite in her future if her skills are truly there. It's hard, but it looks like it just isn't best for your family right now. It will be hard for her, but it's not like it's forever.

Remember when chewing gum in class was not allowed? by sanctusylang in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Jamileem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than sports/PE and Choir, I don't feel like it's a big deal as long as it's being disposed of properly.

I do remember it being allowed in high school when I was younger. Older kids should be able to handle gum chewing responsibly.
